DD1's nan has booked a place on Pony Camp for DD at her step-aunts equestrian centre in the summer. She has been horse riding a few times and would like to go a bit more but it's so expensive and I don't really want to pay out a load for her to decide to give it up in 6 months or so.

She has a pair of jodhpurs that her cousin gave her, but I have been told that ideally she needs some boots and maybe more jodhpurs or chaps.

Does anyone know where I can get some cheapy stuff from? And what sort of boots should I be looking at? Long ones or short ones? If I buy chaps, do I need jodhpurs as well or can she wear them over jeans?

I have no idea what I need to get or where to start looking!!

TIA

So, would you recommend we get the long boots or ankle boots?

Try ebay for jodhpurs too, kids grow so quickly! Jodhpur boots are better for them to learn in as they can get a better leg position but long boots provide protection. I think that jod boots and half chaps are the best, personally, but always with jods - never over jeans for kids - they can rub and are not as comfy/ protective.
