Well it's lucky we only got round to buying me a cheapy engagement ring, because the week before our wedding we inherited this gorgeous diamond and sapphire ring.

It was DH's mother's engagement ring (she died when DH was a child), and was made by his paternal grandfather who was a jeweller, so it's very special. And it fitted!

We had no idea it would be coming to us - there was obviously a 'reason' that we didn't prioritise buying me a proper engagement ring, after all!

That is beautiful and even more special as it has history :nod: My late Nan's wedding band fits me perfectly so I hope to have that maybe combined with some new gold for when Mr W and I do get married. My Grandparent's had 60 years plus together.
