Seriously so much fun!

Had ours sat in a box for 2 years and only just opened it! I thought it would be mega complicated but it's so sodding simple it's ridiculous!

Lots still to learn about such as working on a solid background and then putting another background pic in, rotoscope ?! and onionskin overlays..... but still fun without knowing all that!

Here's one of the kid's first attempts from yesterday:

It looks very cool! Do you have any idea of the age range for this? I think dd may be a bit young yet, but I am desperately thinking about her 7th birthday. I may need to file this a way for a couple of years.

 Thanks for the recommendation! DH & Oscar did a comic strip thing last year, taking photos and making backgrounds etc and then adding speech bubbles. THis looks like a brilliant next step up. It's going on the Birthday present list for O1 :thumb:

Agree that this is a fab gift. In fact I wish I had time to play with it myself! We got the Drummond Park set for my older daughter for Christmas 2010 (when she was 9). It sat in the box for about 8 months, and then she made this:

She took all the photos and made the models and the backgrounds; my DH sourced the music and sound effects and he helped to make the photos into the movie.

There is also this one for a bit more but I think the one I got does the same things.

I'd say any child that has the motor skills to move objects very slightly and slowly can do it. It's basically that... move or reshape a lump of plasticine/toy and click the mouse on the red button to take the picture, move it, click it, move it, click it. Simple! You could help your child by doing the clicking whilst they moved the object each time. Then you can add music and dialogue (I don't have a microphone so guess that's my next step so they can do voiceovers on their films).

ETA - it doesn't have an age range on the box. I'd say no less than five years old maybe or they may not really be interested in it. The one I have has direct links to upload to Youtube and Facebook (although can't get the FB one to work for some reason) and says it's HDtv ready also.
