I've seen one I love and wanted for Christmas but when I went to try it on I was surprised at how light it seemed and almost felt cheap (which clearly it isn't).

I'm not sure why I expected something heavier I'm not averse to a lightweight watch but does anyone have any good/bad experiences to share?

I had my heart set on one last year and went into Selfridges to look at them.

Asked the assistant who basically persuaded me to get a Marc Jacobs (similar looking one) instead because he said they had loads of issues with the toy ones and I thought the same as you - it felt cheap on my wrist!

I have a fake Toy Watch that my SIL bought me from Malaysia last year. She apologised for how plasticky and cheap it felt, but after trying on a real one, they felt exactly the same!!!

I have a white with a lavender face, and whilst it's pretty, I think if I was to pay full price I'd expect something sturdier. I think there are better watches out there that look v similar.

What's the Marc Jacobs one and you have any other recommendations as it's the purple metallic I like so quite distinctive?!

Marc Jacobs does do a purple one http://www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstore/d/8742383/marc+jacobs+ladies'+purple+rubber+bracelet+watch/ - mine is a slightly different style, black with fluorescent pink numbering.

There are plenty like the toy one though. I like the TRIWA watches too - they did do a purple one I think. http://www.selfridges.com/en/Menswear/Categories/Watches/Fashion/CRPU124-Corniche-chrono-watch_106-3001742-CRPU124/
