Quick Q on the Child Tax Credit please girls.

When Tash was born, I got for her £98 every 4 weeks. This then went down to £44 when she turned 1 year old.

I assumed I would get the same for Josephs first year, but no.

I get £44 for Tash.
And £44 for Joseph.
Every 4 weeks.

Is this right?

How come Tash got double what Jay is getting for her first year?

Our Income is exactly the same.

Im frightened to call and enquire incase they say I owe them half off Tashas money back!

i would quiry it hun especially if your incomes are the same i know for a newborn you get an extra £10 till they turn 1yr old
give them a ring or better still if you cant contact them either ring benefits agency or tax office or even job centre too
hope this helps you. x

Phone your local CAB. Some have Tax Credits advice officers who should explain it to you.
But I do think a second child doesn't get the same premium rate as a first.
