After gp last night and him confirming it was the glasses i rang boots this morning

We went back and forward them saying you picked frames why didnt you come back after a week or 2 etc etc and also they wouldnt fit contacts as i need suitable glasses before they can do that

I asked them what they expected me to do and what the next step and they basically said in a roundabout way none as they can see me being back in same situation in a few months with new frames again

I was livid and was arguing for ages

Rah anyway i went to shops/beauty earlier and popped into an independent optician who fitted me in so i actually now have contacts :-) and no suprises pain and headache gone but also looked at glasses and said pads very hard and against the bone on my nose (i have a prominent bone) they would hurt.he said he would put softer pads on them if in next 2weeks while i have contacts when i put them on they still hurt and has various ones he can try including air filled ones

Boots havent once mentioned or looked at the pads only the position of them, maybe it was this with original frames too!?

Ive had it with the branch i dont want anything more to do with them and im writing to head office

What would you ask for?refund?replacement etc? Or just detail complaint and leave it open?ill need to calm beforw i write it

I can see why Boots are reluctant to refund or replace if you've been wearing the glasses for a few months. If you were fitted for a pair of shoes that turned out to be unbearably uncomfortable, you wouldn't wear them every day for months before going back to the shop.

That isn't to say that they shouldn't try to put right the glasses you have, and try to make them wearable by changing the pads and adjusting the fit.

I think you'll have to go into the branch and ask them to make the glasses comfortable enough to wear, and if they refuse then go to Head Office.

I must say I agree with Jubjub - I'm not quite clear on why you think a refund is applicable?

Sorry but I agree with the others. If I got bad headaches after getting glasses fitted I'd take them back and get them adjusted within a few days. Also, there's no way a Dr could actually tell for sure that persistent headaches were from glasses being too tight so if yours said that, I'd be worried. Even though they were right it seems, if you had been suffering from something more serious then saying it was your glasses could have been deadly.
The only way to diagnose 'too tight glasses' is to discontinue use or to make the connection within a few days of owning them in my opinion. After a month it could be anything causing the pain.

These are the people you need, if you think you have a valid complaint;

Because they didnt hurt straight away,gp said the reason is prob the continual rubbing making the spot weak which then after a period of times gets so uncomfy and sore when they are on iyswim

I only think refund or replacement as they dont seem willing to do anything so im left with a product i cant use, they fit and check glasses are suitable not me i just pick what i like, they should be suggesting pads etc like other optician but they arent even doing that

Kk doc has ordered bloods and took bp looked in eyes etc

I have no visial problems

I know its the glasses as the headaches go once they are removed and dont come back until they are back on,i also have red dents in the side of my nose and its these spots i feel pain/uncomfort
