So I think Serena may have to come out of her toddler bed soon :lol: She is in a typical "box" room which currently has a wardrobe and chest of drawers from Mamas and Papas (which is still in excellent condition so am loathe to get rid of:doh:) and a toddler bed from GLTC.
I was thinking of a high sleeper and putting the chest under it but dont know if she is still a bit too young (5 in September).
Other than that maybe a cabin bed but get rid of the chest?
What have you got in your small room (if you have one ) Any other ideas that I have not thought of?

Not sure how high a high sleeper is in comparison to a bunk bed, but DD1 has been in a top bunk since about 5

I've been having a similar debate in my own head as Matthew is also still in his toddler bed (my two share a room). M is desperate for a bunk bed but I can't deal with the thought of him falling out.
I think personally I would feel more comfortable with a cabin bed than a high sleeper just because it would be easier to get to him if he needed me in the night.
You can get shorty beds. My girls have the shorty bunkbeds from Argos but I wouldn't recommend them as they are metal and creek. If you Google you can find other companies that sell them. Check the length so as some are very short and I imagine getting covers to fit would be a nightmare. The Argos ones aren't that small, an adult can still sleep in them.

Seri sleeps in a bunk at my mums and is fine but yes the idea of getting to her i.e. if she is upset or something has crossed my mind. Also she vomits quite a lot because of her TOF so changing the bed would be a mare!

Never heard of these, will have a look!

DD had a shorty mid-sleeper from argos - it wasn't in the box room mind you, it had a slide on it so it wouldn't have fitted! That done her for quite a few years, she only changed beds when I had ds2 and got bunk beds for the other 2 as they had to share for a while. You could possibly still get the chest under that depending on the height of it, if not there will be others that will fit under or you can buy the mid-sleepers with storage under them.
I used to sleep in ds1's toddler bed with him, one benefit of being a short arse!

Have a peek at the Aspace website, there is a seconds section with lots of lovely beds. We have a boxroom for Jude and I think when he goes into a real bed I will go for a midsleeper with lots of storage underneath for clothes and toys. I think a high sleeper might look a bit too big in our little room.
I'm in the same situation and have been looking around for a bed for DS.
I wouldn't go for a shorty bed personally unless I had to. I'd rather have one that will last and that someone else could sleep in if necessary. I get a lot of family descend!
I know what you mean about a high sleeper, I feel the same but something like this isn't too bad. Just over 5ft high. I'd consider that, it's not really any worse than a bunk bed is it?

I like that Rez, where is it from please? xx
They're nice aren't they? I think I've decided on the midsleeper version of it, you can get the furniture to go underneath too.
That site is kidzdens but isn't the cheapest, this appears to be a reasonable one:

they've got some nice beds on http://www.aspace.co.uk/beds/raised_beds worth looking on very too, they have quite a good range.
Rez, the Argos short beds aren't much shorter than a standard one. DH is about 5ft 10 and can sleep it in. They are short enough to mean we can get a decent size wardrobe in DDs room though. We looked at replacing them with more solid wooden short beds, the ones elsewhere were very short.

Ooooh, I like that bed too Rez
Now if only the people I'm trying to buy a house from would accept our offer.....

 Getting a shorty bed for DD just meant that the bed would fit along the same wall as her bedroom door without it being a tight squeeze. She still had a million teddies at the bottom of the bed and enough room for her  she slept in it from age 4/5 to age 10.
