Okay so I'm panicing slightly, I know I still potentially have 8-10 weeks before this baby puts in an appearance, but I have a desperate need to be ready.
At the moment my issue is clothes (for baby) and whether I have enough of everything.
My mil keeps saying people are going to buy us stuff, but
1. I don't want to assume that.
2. People often buy bigger sizes so baby has something to grow into (at least that's what I do)

So this i what I have now, can you tell me if I have enough and if not what I need to get.

Short sleeve vests:
5 up to 7.5lbs from Adams (they actually don't look much smaller than the 0-3)
8 0-3 months from various places.

Babygrows
3 up to 7.5 lbs
3 0-3 months

Mil has been knitting so we're drowning in cardigans, matinee jackets, dresses, booties, mittens, hats etc.
They are all lovely mind you, she knits really well.

4 pairs of tights 0-6 months
5 pairs of socks newborn

We have 1 Humphreys Corner outfit 0-3 months that we got in the Mothercare sale, but apart from that we haven't bought any outfits for newborn or 0-3 months.

Hope that made sense, any advice will be gratefully received!

Thanks

I'd consider getting some more cheapy newborn size babygros. Lucy got through two a day at least and it was a godsend not to have to wash them every two days. I would also consider getting one newborn outfit for your first visits to people. I bought only 0-3 months stuff for Lucy and it drowned her, she was a nice average 7lb 3oz too. Believe me you will want to show your little baby off to people! I was surprised that no-one bought any newborn sized stuff for Lucy! And have a think about a snowsuit too for your first trips out - the weather is only going to get colder!

I would say get more newborn sleepsuits too - from those sizes (ie up to 7.5lb) they sound like tiny baby size. I think newborn goes up to a bigger weight. The reason I say that is that Anna was only 7.3 and we didn't have much newborn stuff at all - DH went out to buy stuff and not realising the sizes bought tiny baby as it said up to 7.5lb but they were too small for her as she's quite long, so had to go back out for newborn stuff. We bought mostly 0-3 as well and it's only just starting to fit now. 0-3 body/vestsuits were fine though as they don't need anything too tight across the cord and nappies are quite bulky.

Thanks Lucypede,

I forgot to mention that we actually have 2 snowsuits, both are newborn size but one is significantly bigger than the other.

Thanks for your advice, I will get some more newborn babygrows, I figured I would need more than I've got.

Duckie,

I thought that too about the up to 7.5lbs, but mil bought them and it seemed strange to me as so many newborn babies are much bigger than 7.5lbs, even if she is around 7lbs she wouldn't get much wear out of them.

Try Tesco for cheapy ones, the sizes are ok, and they're only about £5 for 7!

Newborn are usually up to 10 or 11lbs
