I have my 20 week scan on FRiday (they scan women at 22/23 weekd here though) and am very excited to know that all is well and find out if the little pip is pink or blue!
But my sister in law has offered to buy us a 4D scan as well if we'd like and I was wondering when is the best time to do this?
Do you have to get them done during a specific time period?
Thanks,
pip

I had mine done at 29 weeks they say between 26-32 weeks. 28-30 being the best time to be able to get the best shots of the baby.

Thanks CH, that's really useful.
If I aim to get it done at 30 weeks that should give us enough time to research it and book one!

The 4d place I went to said that 26-28 weeks is the best time as its not too squished in there. I have had 4d scans with all 3 and all done at 27 weeks. Maybe ring up a couple of places near you and see what they recommend. It really is a lovely scan though.
We had ours done at Baby Premier in Harley Street (http://www.babypremier.co.uk/harleystreet.asp). The pricing seemed competitive and it was a really good service :thumb: It's a lovely experience and really does help with bonding :cloud9:
We had Eva's scan at 28 weeks and got much better images than for Max's which was done at 30 weeks. It was much harder to get a really good image for him as he as so big, there wasn't as much room for him to move around. Maybe something to bear in mind?
It's a wonderful experience though and what a lovely gift

Thanks minime and dita.
I was just looking at the Baby premier website and they look like they're one of the more reasonable options :sunglasses:
I'll need to do a diary check with Mr Pip to see when would be the best time to do it but I'm only 22 weeks at the moment so we still have a little while.
Did any of you get a DVD of the scan or just pictures?

We had one done at 28 weeks both times...
The first time we got the DVD (and a package with lots of photos - very over-excited first time parents  ) but the second time we just got a couple of basic prints and a few photos on a CD.
We went with Babybond as got a special offer at the Baby Show so it was cheaper.
We got the DVD & images both times. I thought it would be a lovely gift for them someday :lurve:

I also went through Babybond and had it done at 27 weeks; I was told that was the perfect time to see the detail (I wasn't fussed about the gender and she resolutely kept her legs closed anyway ) The pictures were brilliant; you'd easily know it was her

Ours DVDs were included in the price along with two black & white pictures. 2nd and 3rd scan, we got the pictures put on a CD-ROM which was a little bit extra but because we were returnees we got a discount which covered the price of it. We went to A 4D Baby in Marlesham Heath near Ipswich. Very good prices as well, but not sure how close you are.

We had ours done at 27 weeks too and it was amazing :lurve:. We had it done with Meet Your Baby in Leeds and got 2 B&W prints, 8 colour prints, a DVD and 100 pictures on a CD. The package was reduced to £99 from £155 because OH works for the NHS. The same applies for anyone in the armed forces or emergency services, too.
