I really need some help trying to find a dress or top for a wedding in August. I will be 8 mths pg.

I have looked on various websites but can't really find anything suitable, seems to be a lot of grey and black about.

Have been to a few shops and from what I have tried on, I could probably get away with a normal maxi dress as long as its quite 'floaty' and not too tight around the boob area as have big :boobies:.

Also have another wedding in November, so will be bf'ing and if I can use it for this wedding as well it would be great. Unfortunately, I don't have a huge amount of money to spend, maybe £40-45 at most, but cheaper would be brilliant. I can get to Colchester and Ipswich quite easily so shops shouldn't be a problem.

TIA
Mini xx

It's black, but I have a strapless dress that I used for my friend's wedding.. Will see if I can find a pic.. You are welcome to borrow it for postage if you like.

Alternatively, I have a brown dress that I wore for another wedding that had a turquoise pattern all over it. I'll check out sizes and then report with pics..

This is the black one:

Size 12 (Seraphine size 3)

I can't find a pic of the other one at the moment, but it's a size 14, has mid length sleeves and is knee length with a V neck.

ETA - Just had a look on the littlewoods site, and this dress is pretty:

Thanks very much for the offer Becci, but I am a size 16 so don't think I will be able to get in them. Thanks again though :flowers:

The black one is actually quite roomy.. I wouldn't have been able to wear it when I was any less pregnant! I am normally a 14-16 myself. Understand not risking it though!

Oh, that looks nice. They do it in a blue as well which is cheaper for some reason.

Becci, If I'm honest, I would probably say I was a 16-18 but don't like the thought of going up another size. Can fit into most size 16 maternity clothes though.

I'm having the same issue Minime. It's my little sisters wedding at the end of July so I'll be 29/30 weeks and will be speaking at the wedding too.

I've seen a few dresses on Asos that I might try and order. My trouble is that I've got big boobs and I don't like my arms so I want something with sleeves. :ohno:

I have been looking on Asos as well Mrsironted and there is some nice stuff on there, even a couple I could wear for bf'ing as well at the next wedding. I'm sure I saw a few on there with sleeves. I have big boobs (esp when my milk comes in  goes up to a G-H cup) and don't like my legs but think if I go for a maxi dress, I will probably be too hot in August. Might have to buy some fetching maternity tights in a nude colour or something to go with it.

Well you've inspired me to stop faffing and I've ordered 4 dresses from ASOS. I'll see what they are like and report back.

I'm an F/G cup usually so I understand what you mean about the boobs. I'm scared to think what I am when my milk comes in :zombie:

I wore a non-maternity Monsoon dress to a wedding last year when I was a few days off my due date. I *think* it's a size 20. My non-pg boobs are a G/GG cup and they were just about fine in the dress. They were obviously preggie boobs but not obscene or anything. I wore a little short sleeved cardie over the top as I don't like my arms.

Here - this is exactly the one I wore

Thats a lovely dress. Am going to order a couple from Asos, I think and if no good then I think a trip to Ipswich is in order.

HOw are you getting on with a dress minime?

I ordered 4 dresses but only 3 were delivered so ASOS are sending the other one out. I think I will be going for this (http://www.asos.com//Asos/Asos-Maternity-Printed-Floral-Belted-Back-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1520339) one. It's a 16 but is fitting well. I just have to acessorise it now!

I saw that dress and its on my short list atm. I haven't actually ordered any yet, am wondering if I can get away with wearing a dress that I got when pregnant with C and just accessorising with bright colours. It is black but has white spots all over, not sure if we can afford for me to get a new dress atm.

Awww, thanks Purple Lady. I now am worrying about what to wear with it  any ideas?

When's the wedding Minime? I could always post it to you after the wedding in July if it fits you. You might want to order it and check it fits then send it back  It's a size 16.

You wouldn't be able to breast feed in it though, definitely not enough room for :boobies:

I've got this one - the weddings I had to go to were all in the spring evening so no summer floaty things for me. It's ASOS for £40 and is just above the knee - I'm 5 foot 2. Definitely needs accessories though!

Forgot to say, this fits my current 38Fs perfectly well in a size 16

When's the wedding Minime?

Its right at the beginning of August. Not sure there would be time to get it to me (yours is at the end of July isn't it? the post around here is awful), thanks for the offer though. :flowers:

Thats a nice dress as well, spritzer.

Am going to leave it for a little bit I think and see if I can find some nice accessories to go with the dress I have. I always seem to panic first before thinking through my options.

Yes 30th July. I'd be posting from London though and I know the post there isn't as good as Scotland! Well if you get stuck let me know and we can try it, even if it's special delivery or something.

Spritzer, that's a lovely dress, I would have considered it except for the time of year
