Ive just realised that my flower girls dresses are cream and gold, my theme is gold and red, yet i have a white and silver gown.
Am i going to look utterly ridiculous??
I really wanna wear the white dress i think!

I agree - have the flower girl dresses been bought yet or just planned? Cause they'll clash the most being beside you all the time.

How old are your flowergirls Marti? We had Mr Gs two nieces and they were just over two - they were next to us for about five minutes the whole day! One of them even made it down the aisle before I did
I wasn't an everything had to match kind of a bride and didn't have a theme as such but I think it would be a real shame to let the flower girls dresses dictate what dress you (one of the two most important people there) wear.
Can you lay the dresses out together and see how they look? Or could the flower girls dresses be taken back/exchanged?
hth
:higgies:

I was going to suggest that you all get together and try the dresses on it might not look too different.

the invites wont matter , but in the photos you will notice the white against the cream .
so its white and silver flower girl dresses to look for , can you afford to get them and put the cream ones on ebay

Could you sell the ivory gown and buy new flower girl dresses with the proceeds?

Good point:smile: Gemiloch.
Im not really an everything has to match kinda bride either but i dont know if i will get away with this.
Flowers girls are my niece and daughter. To be honest, neither of them will probably be around me much, only for the pictures.
All of the dresses were bargains, and i can probably change them, but would prefer not to if i can avoid it.

I was going to suggest exchanging the dresses too. Do they still have labels in? If not, option 2 would be e-bay them.
Initially when I read this I thought 'stuff it, it doesn't matter', but I think janiebaby is right and it might spoil the photos, and as that is the main 'souvenir' (apart from a DH that is  ), I think it'd be a shame. Plus you really don't want to be looking at photos for all eternity thinking 'we look silly' :happyno: :happyno: :happyno:

This is soooo true... other people might not notice but you can spend a lot of time picking fault with your own wedding photos

Is your dress white white snow, paper, sugar white? cause if it's even slightly creamy it could look good, and i don't think the gold/silver thing will be that noticeable.

ok..... If you love everything that you have, I would suggest that any pictures with you and the flowergirsl next to each other are printed in black and white or sepia, rather than colour. I agree with Gem that it seems a shame to have everything dictated by the flower girls' dresses.

Thank you  It was going to be my solution when my bridesmaids were going to be in different dresses, oddly enough they have all ended up in dresses from the same fabric so no longer an issue. However I may well end up doing this anyway for some of the random kilt pictures
