Hi all,
I'm two days overdue and for the last week and a half I've been getting painful cramps on and off in the early hours. Mainly in the bottom of my back and bottom left hand side of my tummy.
This morning they were really bad and carried on for over an hour, each 8 mins apart. I keep thinking it's early labour but then it just comes to nothing.
Should I get this checked out or is it normal? I didn't have any of this with DD - not a single twinge until I was induced.

Sounds a bit like how my labour started with DD, I thought I had bad backache which kept coming and going.
Good luck hon :higgies:

Is it Braxton Hicks? Is your bump going hard?

I wonder if things are starting for you DM?
How are the pains now?

Thanks MrsD!

I think so! Not really sure as baby is so hard now and there's not much room left!

That's the funny thing Vienna - they disappear during the day - I only get them at night, normally around 4am!

I hope it is a sign that your baby will be here soon!

I always think that the body knows that it's supposed to be relaxing and then it starts with BH's.
Can you take some paracetomols and see if you can nod back off. I know it sounds daft but I've told mine to go away once they start in the night, I've learnt to ignore them because if not I wouldn't sleep. If they're the genuine ones then they would get stronger but they never seem to.

Not sure what to advise, but I hope its the start of your body gearing up DM. I did get pains a few days before I went into labour, but because they weren't regular the hospital told me it probably wasn't labour, and they were right! But it was a definite 'sign' for me. Good luck hun x

I too am getting these, DM. If I have had a particulary busy day they can be quite bad, if I have had a quieter day they are not usually so bad. Who knows what they are but I am sure they are something to do with gearing up for what is about to happen. I was timing mine the other night. But until I get a show/my water's break or they are much more painful or regular I don't think there is much we can do about them.
Take care xxxx
