Anyone Had The Implant Contraception Fitted?

I am due to have it fitted next week but have heard varied reports.

Yes I had it fitted in my arm . It went in with no problem but it can be awkward to get out. The injection did hurt but wasn't too bad. However when I got it out (TMI alert) your tissue can grow around it :rolleyes: So they have to kind of dig about a bit . Sorry :eek: However I had no probs with it and I would recomend it for anyone who forgets to take the mini pill/ or wants a longer term contraceptive. Hoe this helps .

I'd be interested in any experiences. We were thinking of this too, as we don't want to TTC until the end of next year (or after we're married anyway), and I really don't want any accidents. Plus, I know your fertility can take a while to return to normal after the pill, but returns instantly after removal of the implant.

I don't fancy the coil, and I know the injection can cause weight gain, which I do not need! Plus it saves the faff of taking the pill every night. How about you Cherry? I take it you're not planning more bubbas any time soon ;) :p

The implanon can make you put on weight just like the depo injection my Doctor told me there very similer, this is why i haven`t had the Implanon.
Luckly i`m good with the mini-pill
