I was going to post this earlier, then decided I was being a drama queen, then read PL's post in pregnancy and birth and now I'm worried.

Basically for the last few months I've been spotting before AF arrives. (TMI warning). Basically a light, stained bleed when I wipe for a day or two. This month it was three days. It always turns into AF eventually.

Anyway, earlier I was just peed off as this can mean by AF is longer than normal. (The coupla days of spotting with me waiting for the bag arrive properly).

Now reading PL's post I'm concerned this could mean I have low progesterone levels. My GP thinks I'm a total fecking headcase anyway but I'm terrified because we do want to TTC number 2 sometime in the next year and now I'm worried that may be in doubt.

I've tried googling for info but keep getting jargon loaded sites... can anyone tell me I'm totally over reacting because it is my time of the month and I'm a crabby old baggage or should I really be worrying about this?

A very emotional Lola

OOh crikey I always have spotting before AF, sometimes up to a week before! I thought about mentioning it to my GP but decided that he would think I'm being panicky over nothing and try to put me on the pill, so decided against it. I'm off to check out PL's thread now
Sorry no help to you!

I got this last week before my first AF in over a year.

Lola Dane, keep away from Google. Its bad for your sanity!

I am sure its nothing to worry about, but go and see your GP if you are worried, who cares if they think you are a crackpot? We all know that for a fact!

I had spotting before AF for most of the time we were TTC I worried like you but the Dr didn't think it was anything to worry about when I mentioned it to him. I would talk to your Dr about it if it is a worry if he already thinks you are a nut case this can't make it any worse!

Thanks girls.
I should really chill out unless of course I find I cant get pg when I next want to.

Google is my worst enemy at times!

Now i'm worried, for the past 3 months i've had 2/3 days of spotting before AF arrives properly and i've NEVER has this before now, i think i need to book an appointment with my GP to discuss my cycles and AF as they're driving me round the bend and i'm not pregnant yet

I suffer from this too - spotting either side of AF, ending up with it all lasting about 10days!!! :bwahaha: went to the GP, she thought it was a cervical erosion & refered me to a gynae. He checked me out, said it wasn't serious and that the regular pill would help by balancing out my hormone levels. If I was happy to go along with that, then that was fine. So i'm now on microgynon and no spotting! :yay:
He did say the erosion could be lazered off, had a chat with my mum and it turns out she had that. She had the lazer thing, whilst uncomfortable it was ok and all of it was sorted out relatively simply.
ATEOTD it is irregular bleeding and it's definately worth getting checked out. I don't want to scare you, but for the sake of a couple of minutes embarassment it is worth it.

ETA - my hormonal "change" that triggered it all was when I stopped breastfeeding. sometimes you can't pinpoint what triggers something like that. Not saying it is that, I'm not a doctor, but it could be.

now that is interesting CB, I know I do have cervical erosion (picked up at last smear around 2 years ago) and the spotting has also started with me coming off the pill.
