Im thinking of getting one of those massive lava lamp things for the babies room.

I was going to get him a lamp for his room, but our electrician is putting spot lights in for us, & i can dim these so i was thinking of getting a funky lava lamp as he gets abit older it may be nice for him to watch

Something like this

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31Um3h2Q3bL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

But like 3-4 x the size

It will go on the floor & stands up

I thought it was called a giant lava lamp but seems not to be as i cant get anything to come up on ebay or on the argos website

This one is 24" inches high, is that big enough?

These can be made to any size you like but cost over £2k :faint:

I think it will cost you a lot, even if you could find it cheaper elsewhere, it's still going to be in the thousands. Have you tried a price comparison website?

Park- The first thing you linked looks great, think I'll get that for Z! :thumb:

You can get cheap bubble tubes. The lowest I have seen the "proper" ones for is £250 2nd hand on ebay. But you can get smaller ones, I've only seen them in one of those shops that randomly spring up in precincts before Xmas. The issue with the cheap ones is they aren't that robust and of course involve both electricty and water. I'm sure if I had ninja DIY skills I could install one to be childproof though, so if you know someone v practical it would be worth giving that a go. LOs are mesmerised by them, they are fab. :thumb:

They are & little hands might want to explore so best avoid & get a bubble tube instead & use one of those anti topple devices to prevent it from toppling over.

Just to echo, I wouldn't get one tbh. We had a small table top one a few years ago, it got really hot very quickly and it was made of glass. Not a great combo for a young child.

The ones i am thinking of are bubbles not lava this is what i saw on 60 min makeover, These surely dont get hot??? They have them for kids with special needs or kids that respond well to stuff like that (ie Katie Prices son) loves stuff like this

They cant be dangerous or get hot?? The lava lamps yes, i know they get hot, i thought it was lava but its def bubbles & loads of them

I'll just stick to a normal lamp though (lava) it will be well out the way he wont be able to touch it but be nice for him to look at.
