Hi,
Last week I gave Thomas some sugar-free calpol and it seemed to give him a dodgy tummy & a spot of diahrea (sp?)
when i read the enclosed leaflet it said the fructose in the calpol can cause this.
Does anyone have some regular calpol to hand? If so do they know if they put sugar in this? Also baby neurophen as he is nearly old enough for that.
Thanks :wik:

 I've only ever seen one sort of calpol - I really don't think that you can buy any other kind.
I would try calling the help number that will be on the bottle but I would think that if it doesn't agree with him, you may have to try something else :-(
Sorry :-(
(same for nurofen)
eta - actually a thought - I've just seen how old Thomas is. Did you give it to him after his jabs?? I thought that you were only supposed to give them calpol after their jabs until 3 months. Maybe his wee tummy just wasn't ready for it??

They can have baby calpol from 2 months (neurophen is 3 months) and they do it in sugar-free or regular, I'm not sure how long the sugar free one has been out for though as I'm use to just seeing the regular one - you're prob right though, being at the youngest he can take it may just be too much for him at the moment! will try and give them a call - thanks :wik:

Yes calpol is now stated as from 2 months.
I've never seen a *regular* one though, in calpol or nurofen or any other medicine for that matter, they all seem to be sugar free these days! Maybe go into your local Boots store and ask them?

I only saw the Sugar Free one too. Isabel hates it - she spits it back at me  I am sure it gave her runny poo as well.

Hmmm - i must be going crazy - could've sworn there was a different one - this stupid pg brain was supposed to end once bubs was born
Am popping out to town later so may have a look in boots to see if there's anything without fructose in it - need to be prepared for 2nd round of jabs !!
gemgal I thought there were two kinds too, when i asked for it as it was behind the counter they asked me if i wanted the sugar free one or normal

I have the sugary one but I see you've already found the website! Tastes much better than the sugar free one :wik:
