So, it's Eva's Christening next weekend and I've had my outfit sorted for ages:

Wallis dress

KJL cuff & earrings
http://ebaypics.pipeten.co.uk/images/2010/07%20July/KJLCuff5.jpg http://ebaypics.pipeten.co.uk/images/2010/07%20July/KJLEarrings1.jpg

Mulberry clutch bag (a bit like this but with a strap)
http://ebaypics.pipeten.co.uk/images/2010/07%20July/Milton.jpg

Bronze plait wedges with woven detail on sole (Next - couple of seasons old, no pics)

Normally I just leave my hair down and end up getting so annoyed with having it in my face all the time, that I end up clipping it back into a rough twist or ponytail. I figure I may as well start to plan for this :teehee: and put my hair up before leaving the house - at least that way, it might actually look quite smart :sunglasses:

I was thinking I'll just tie it all back into a fairly high (but not topknot ) bun and was wondering about maybe some sort of hair accessory to go around or above it or something :scratchchin:

I don't want a fascinator or hairband or anything that's particularly visible from the front as I'll be wearing the earrings and they're quite statementy as it is.

I'm really rubbish with hair things - I've had a quick look on ASOS, HQHair & Accessorize but haven't really found anything suitable. I'm not sure about fabric flowers :scratchchin: They feel a bit dated to me but all the shops seem to be selling them so what do I know?!

I quite like this Johnny Loves Rosie sequinned pin (http://www.hqoutletstore.com/jewellery-accessories/johnny-loves-rosie/sequin-flower-pin)(presumably it can be worn in the hair ) but it's OOS:

I'm sure there are a million things on Etsy but I haven't a clue where to start looking

Any suggestions, pretty please? :prettyplease:
Thanks

I have absolutely no clue as I have super-short hair, but just wanted to say that your outfit looks amazing. I love it all!

I use my flower cosages/pins as hair accessories, I either put a kirby grip theough the pin to fix to my hair or I pin them to plain elastic hairbands or alice bands.

I love that one you posted.

Thanks, Sarah & JT :thumb:

I just had a look on M&S and spotted this one which, colourwise, works really well. But is it really "chic and contemporary"? :scratchchin:  I'm worried it's a bit frumpsville. I'd wear it sitting on top of the bun I guess.

No wonder I never bother with hair stuff - I'm clueless

:meh: I think the outfit is totally perfect - the dress with the earrings, bag and cuff is spot on :thumb:

I am worried that by adding a comb like the M&S one you may detract from a really cool outfit and head into matchy matchy twee territory :meh:

The blue/bronse rose is perfect and I certainly think something cute and small near the bun would be ideal

Let me go and have a peek about some websites :walking:

Me again, still with no clue! I don't think that the M&S one is particularly contemporary, but agree that it is a great colour match, and I think that you could pull it off with the rest of the outfit. BUT I much prefer the first one (but obv it is oos).

Sunshine69 posted a lovely headband from NOTHS on her Vivien of holloway dress thread. I know you don't want a headband, but maybe there is something on there?

Sorry Deets that M&S one is not nice imo :happyno:

If you're not into fake flowers, how about something like this from Eclectic Eccentricity:

Will keep looking...

Shame this is in Hong Kong as something like this might be nice

Yes Dita, something like what Chicky just posted would be great :lurve:

Also, say you were to have your hair down but with a side plait across the top or something? You could use these small clips to hold the plait in place?

Though I would be tempted not to wear a hair accessory and just let those gorgeous earrings do the talking.

Deets, I have found the perfect accessory!

:teehee: Only joking obvs. Plenty of headbands around but not much in the way of clips/combs/things to shove in!

Thanks, all  I just *knew* that M&S one was frumperama, really :ohno:

Chicky, that is fabulous  Max would love it, I could claim it was LV, cite Madonna as my inspiration, I'd be at least a foot taller than everybody else. Perfect :ellie:

:teehee:

Aurora, I was thinking of a front side plait but it doesn't really work that well atm as my hair is so fine at the front, relative to the back. A plait makes it look really obvious (although probably only to me ) I've been losing loads of hair since having Eva - I think I mentioned it to Spands on Sunday night. I'm not worried about it as such - but don't want to highlight the fact

I really like that clip that shazza posted :thumb: Maybe something like that?

One similar to Shazza's would be perfect!

If the event wwas two weeks away I'd say risk ordering the clip I posted as stuff from Hong Kong usually comes pretty quickly.

I shall keep my eye out and see if I spot anything similar :)

John Lewis have this (http://www.johnlewis.com/230859577/Product.aspx) which is a lovely colour.

Not as pretty as the Jonny Loves Rosie on, but a bit different (http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/littlered/product/leather_leaf_corsage).

Not sure what a Hair Dangle (http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/artruly/product/blossom_hair_dangle) is, but it's a pretty colour.

OOH Deets, you're wearing our dress! :lurve: :laff:.

I love the accessories you've put with it (I've not worn mine yet to my shame butyou have inspired me).

I think a simple clip would be gorge, and that you don't need much else, as the dress and earrings are quite strong in their own right.

But I am rather p*ssed on wine aND ice cream which I have been denying myself for WEEKS so my opinion is not to be trusted really :happyno:.

However I do know you'll look fabby .

Thanks, saffy  The dangle :teehee: is really pretty. Might be a bit delicate for me, though :scratchchin:

Minky, I've not worn the dress yet either - I've been keeping it for the Christening  I know it'll be really comfy though :thumb:

I actually found a really nice goldtone hair clip in my jewellery box  It's an old Erickson Beamon for Debenhams piece and is really pretty - I think it might work :hop: so search over

Thanks for your suggestions, all :flowers:
