Well as you are all aware, winter is on its way and even now in the evening i'll go into Joshuas room and its a bit chilly but he's luffly and warm as hot toast. In the mornings though he's freezing, his hands and feet are like icicles (sp) i'm worried he's not warm enough and i've put more blankets on him to keep him warm but he's still :freezing: in the morning.
Any ideas on keeping him warm or do you think i'm keeping him warm enough?

How about getting a small radiator (plug in type) to come on in the morning with a timer? There is a good one in Robert Dyas at the moment for £20.00.

I think it is normal for their hands & feet to be cold and it is nothing to worry about.
If you feel their chest & it is warm that means that they are warm enough.
But I know what you mean. My DS's room is always cold & I am beginning to think that we need to get a little heater to go in there.

Jess's hands and feet are cold in the mornings too. She has her vest, pj's and is in a growbag!
We also have the heating on low in the mornings too now.
I bought Billy a couple of thick babygros. You know, the fleecey type ones. I'm going to put him in those soon. He's OK at the moment though.
They do them in Primark for 4.00GBP each (might have been 2.00GBP, cant remember!). You'd only need a couple.

I use grobags, i use only a 1 tog one as it is about 22/23 degrees in his room at night but it goes down to about 20 in the morning and I am reassured that he is still relatively warm in his grobag in the morning when it is cooler.
I have 2, they cost about £20 each, they are 6-18 months so last a while (i know it works out a bit more pricey than blankets but I think they are a good investment) - you could just make do with 1 but I like to have a spare in case he is sick on it, wets in the night etc.
I bought mine from this website as they charge no postage and they are cheaper than in the shops:

I've put E back in her grobags too as she was kicking her covers off and getting cold. Like seashell, I have bought some 1 tog ones as it is quite warm in there in the evening.

I'm getting Callum a sleeping bag, cos he kicks his covers off and now that it's starting to get cooler he really needs the covers through the night. His room is warm though, 21-22 degrees. I agree with gliterygirl, if his chest is warm then he's ok.
Do you have central heating in his room?

Jude & Anna are in 2.5 tog Grobags. They are both in vests, Pj's, cardi's & grobags. Our house is like a burluddy freezer!! Really old with draughty (sp?) sash windows & my tight arse hubby won't let me have the heating on
I just have it on full bore in the day while he's out to warm the place up a bit before he gets in!!!
We do have a wee pulg in radiator in the boys room though.

I swaddle daniel and last night used two blankets rather than one and he slept til 6 instead of wkaing at 3.30 like he has the last few nights.
During the day I have been putting him in his gro bag and swaddling his arms but it is about 17 degrees in the in the middle of the day
