Take the sides off mummy, take the sides off.

OH MY GOD what have I done????

I've promised Lulah the sides can come off on the weekend.

Does this mean eht end of my lie ins (well, 8am!), is she going to come into our room at stupid o'clock?

Can I pretend she hasn't asked?

Am sure it will be fine Minky!!! If she's asking you then i'd say its a pretty good sign she's ready for it.

 GO Lulah!!

Lucy is a good few months younger and she's been in her bed for a few weeks now and we've had NO problems, in fact she now ASK'S to go to bed and ASK'S to go to bed for her nap in the afternoon if we're at home too :ellie:

Go for it! Ryan doesn't wake any earlier since he's been in his bed, in fact he sometimes plays in his room for a little while when he wakes up so I get to lie in bed a little bit longer

I have to admit though it's hard to get him to nap in his bed in the afternoon but that usually means he goes to bed a little earlier at night.

Good luck!

Ella - though not gracing us with 8 am or anything - never actually gets out of bed - she just shouts a lot til we give in and see her - maybe she thinks she can't get up unless we are there - strange child?

Well done L in anticipation!

I'd go for it. If she's asking for the sides to be taken off then she's clearly ready. And it's got to happen sooner or later!!!

FWIW, Eilis settled very quickly in her big girls bed. We occasionally get a wee visitor in our bed, but otherwise her sleep pattern is much the same.

Oh wow - what a big girl she is getting to be!!

I am sure she will be just fine, hopefully when she wakes up she will be happy playing in her room for a bit.

This is what I am hoping with Dan anyway, most of the time he shouts Book Book to wake us up so my theory is when he can get up and get his own then he won't bother us!

even though c is in a single bed now, he still waits for us to go in and get him, he's never got out himself! :lurve:

Yes!!!!! :bwahaha:

LOL - my 7 year old (just every now and then) comes in to our room in the middle of the night and strokes my hair until I wake up :lurve: and asks if she can come in to our bed or would I like to go into hers! :lurve:

Sometimes she does the same ot her big sister!

:teehee:

She will probably be absolutely and utterly FINE and take to it like a duck to water!!

And Hettie won't get out of it in the morning without us coming to get her either :loco:

Admittedly she does like there at between 6 and 6.30am and shout at us

OR she shouts for Noddy books, teacups, baby Annabell, more sings, milk - random things in her head really :loco:

Problem is at that fecking ungodly hour it's pitch black so she can't see to play by herself

Actually (Thread hijack  sorry minky!!) does anyone know of a light I could get her that she could turn on herself? (although I'm not sure that she wouldn't turn it on at 3am if she woke up........ :scratchchin: )

Hmmm only one i can see is this one... http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0471677.htm and i know you don't like character things, especially in her room on show

I'm sure playskool or fisherprice do a little handheld one, my brother had one til he was 15, he was scared of the dark

I know very little about toddlers but seeing those torch things just gave me visions of the toddler getting out of bed and coming into the parents room and waving the torchlight in their faces in the middle of the night?? (are two year olds that sophisticated?). Maybe something static might be better if that's the sort of thing that could happen...

How about these: http://www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/product.aspx?CategoryID=nursery&ProductID=81038_81265&language=en-GB

Good god how do you post a link without it coming out all long like that? Anyway - we have these in star and moon and they're pretty good. Very easy for little ones to turn on and off.

You could just plug a nightlight into a timer socket and set it for a time that you're happy with. That way she knows she can get up and play once the light comes on.

Not necessarily. Elena's never come in our room & she's been in her bed for 6 months.

Mind you - anything before 8am at the weekends & I tell her it's the middle of the night & she has to go back to sleep It works too! Thanks god for blackout blinds

Good Luck!

ETA: MIL once showed me an advert for a little clock. It had a bit that sprung up at a certain time in the morning so when the child woke up they knew it was time to get up (or not as the case may be). I'm not sure why she showed me, but can see how they might be useful.
