Any good? Would you recommend this range, are the CDs or DVDs better?

WE HEART BABY EINSTEIN!!!!!

You can get the whole set of DVDs on Ebay for about £24. They were absolute life savers for us from about 6-7 months old. DD didn't like all of them, but the few she did like were worth gold in terms of giving me 20 mins to do stuff.

I did see that on Ebay, tempting as they are £15 each on Amazon, but they say they are from China :? does it matter?

Isabel loves the telly already, and is currently watching Poor Little Rich Girls and has just finished watching Footballers Wives, her actual fav though is MTV. Just thought I should perhaps start getting her watching something more educational.

Our ones are from China, you just choose the "English" option when you start the DVD. Most of them don't have any speech so it doesn't matter anyway.

I wouldn't say they're educational (unless it makes you feel better) but babies love them and it gives you some time out.

We call them Visual Ritalin!! :laff:

Gotta be more educational than Footballers Wives surely!

Eilis loved these. I too got a set from ebay - under £25 for full set; it was from Hong Kong - but not a problem!

I've since sold them on to another bagger.

I just bought a set of 19 for £45, not as cheap as some of you guys have got them but they seem to be fetching around that at the mo, and I guess for 19 thats only £2.40 each compared to £15 in the shops. She said they are not Chinese either.

WE HEART BABY EINSTEIN!!!!!

Us too!! We have a set borrowed from ChelseaHarvey (who I must give them back to) as Alfie didn't really watch them anymore, and we've copied them. I also may get some of the new ones from eBay, I know all the tunes off by heart, and what's coming next on each one!!  But boy does Elise love them, and they keep her entertained while I get some stuff done.

I receivd my Baby Einstein DVDs on Saturday - all 19 of them :)

We have had one on each day at the moment and the little telly addict sits and watchs the whole of it without complaining, she gets transfixed, although, to be fair Footballers Wives does the same for her.

The only snag is that they play in black and white, they are meant to be region free however my DVD player is Region 2 and anything that is Region 1 only plays in black and white, so I am going to invest in a new player - we were going to get one of them fancy PVR Hard Disc DVD recorder thingymebobby anyway, but until then - she doesnt care that they are in black and white!

The books are quite good, we have a mirror one for Lorna and she loves looking through it.

I bought 14 dvds from ebay for £30 when Lu was about 3 months. She loved them and still does. They keep her attention the whole way through, She did go through a phase a few months back where she was petrified by them and i have no idea why, she is liking them again atm though.

Before you go getting a new player why not try to unlock your DVD player? We have done this successfully with one of our players but can't with another without much faffing.

If you google the make and model of your DVD player with something like 'unlock code' it might give you an easy way of unlocking it. On ours you pressed a series of buttons on the control which brought up a secret menu and you could choose the region you wanted the player to be, including region-free.

Worth a go before splashing out?

I think some of the DVDs go up to 3 or 4, so she's not too old Adele.

I saw in WHSmiths t'other day another version of BE, called Brainy Baby I think. Looked like a cheap ripp off but the price is almost the same
