just reporting back - splash went to bed on his mattress on the floor in his cell behind bars etc etc tonight :wik: and went straight to sleep.
probably helped that he wouldn't go down for his pm nap cos he was so excited about the whole affair but 'tis a good sign.
we had a very enjoyable time dismantling the cot and moving the mattress in (cue lots of jumping and flinging himself around on it), and i think it helped that i took all of his other toys out leaving only his 3 bedtime cuddlies and that he was v tired.
we did look at furniture to buy for him but were so  at the price of stuff we prolly won't bother for another couple of years till he is old enough to appreciate it.
i might give him some of his toys back in a week or so though once he has got used to the new arrangement.
maybe... :ellie:

So is he still behind bars - Or is it just a gate you have up and Splash is on the mattress? I know I'm being dim here.
Anyway you seem please about it so it must be good news :wik:
Anyway - where are you?

hello sparks, lovely to see you  where's your 'e' gone :wik:
mim, no, he's just in his room with no toys or furniture, the lights off and the door closed and a mattress on the floor - i'm an evil mummy! :boobies:
she devil - he's 16 months.
HA! i shall NOT give him his toys back until, um, i have finished playing with him :wik: aw jules, ok you've made me feel guilty, he can have one a month until he's 15... :laff:
thanks everyone, it went a lot better than i expected actually except now he keeps on pretending he's tired during the day and asking to go to bed, then when we go into his room he suddenly gets a remarkable burst of energy and starts jumping, running, flinging himself around on his mattress etc. funny thing is when he says he wants to go to bed he acts really tired and miserable, so he can go in his room the when we get there its obvious it was all a ploy - i had no idea they could start faking it at such a young age! :ellie:

Poor poor Splashy, solitary confinement, toys confiscated, no furniture, no light, no bed- just a mattress on the floor... and he WANTS to go in there? You must have brain washed him!
