My friend has a pedigree Great Dane called Barney, and yesterday she had a letter from the Kennel Club regarding his kennel name. Apparently he and most of his siblings have the prefix "Diligaf" in their names - Barney is Diligaf Wilson - given by the breeders.
The KC have said that "diligaf" is offensive and that they have informed the breeders that they will have to change the name. My friend had no idea was diligaf meant until I told her this morning when we were walking our dogs! She'd tried to look it up on the internet but couldn't work out why it was rude.
So Barney will have a new kennel name soon......let's hope it's nothing equally cheeky
BTW - for those of you who don't know what it means - do I look like I give a f*ck
