My Stepmother and Stepsisters are Thai and live in Bangkok. They've been saying that whilst it is quite scary having tanks on the streets, the general feeling from the people is that they're glad someone is sorting out the existing Prime Minister as he was crap. The army are apparently taking control for the next two weeks whilst a new interim PM is appointed and then new elections will be held next year.
