:laff: :laff: :laff:

Sorry but there isn't a thread here yet to cover the double buggy issue so i thought we should have one.

We are going to see the mutsy again this weekend and the inlaws are contributing to the fund as well as my parents

Anyone else want to join in the great double buggy hunt??

I can't even decide if I can justify a double buggy - B will be over 2 and a half - but I never got on with a sling the first time around and I don't want to be trapped in the house over winter because getting B to walk anywhere is a nightmare!

Even if I can justify a double buggy, I'm not sure I can justify the price tags on many of them! I do like the Mutsy and DH thinks it's great too but the expense!!!

I'm not searching for a double buggy anymore, as we bought the Phil and Teds, but will post on this thread just to contribute to making it as epic as the other double buggy thread!!

DH is still against the expense of the mutsy but I don't care anymore I want it.

It will cost 450 euros for the frame, duoseat and the baby nest. I don't need the toddler footmuff just yet.

I have saved 150 euros that I could have spent on mat clothes but couldn't be bothered.
In laws are probably going to donate about 75-100 as well as my parents. So DH will only end up spending the 200 euros or so that he wanted to spend on the buggy in the first place (old misery guts that he is)

Then when DS is getting to big for the buggy I will buy a single seat for the mutsy (or might be pg with the 3rd who knows)

I am going to ebay our old pram/buggy combo after the summer so that the garage is not full to bursting.

I will still use the pram for the first few weeks as I am hoping the weather will be fab and that we can sit in the garden in the sun.

How are you finding the phil and teds buggy then BJ?

I like it :)

I am especially glad we got it whenever I am out and about and I have to go through a single door with it. There is no way I could cope with a side by side :happyno: . Obviously haven't used it as a double yet (although am VERY tempted to put a dolly in the newborn bit and test drive it with Dixie in the big girl seat :laff: ). The pannier bags that go on the side are really quite big too, so I will easily be able to fit everything I need for 2 babies into them.

well it would be rude not to add my bit here too............... although I have my double buggy now.

I have the cosatto duet lite (as yoou know) and am very happy. It is a but heavy when pushing, but no worse than other doublesi have tried. It is really narrow and easy to fold to go in/out of the car. The only downside is the baby seat is a not very supportive for a newborn IMO. But I put the bugaboo cosy toes in and it is great. Louis is very snug and safe in there.

The baby seat isnt big, but I kept my bug so when J is older I will revert to that and sell the CDL.

It is perfect for my needs. Often I use the bug (which i love) and J walks, but if we are going for a longer walk, J is tired or I am shopping when I cant bear J wandering around, it is fab.

I dont think it would last for a child much older than 3/baby older than 1 though, but that is fine by me as I'll sell it then.

Liked the mutsy but for my use, for a year, it was too much money,

I FOUND YOU ALL!!!! :laff: :laff:

Well I think we're definitely going to have to get one (no I know we are ) if I actually want to have any sort of life once this babba arrives!!

And unfortunately that means getting a buggy where both children can sleep - ie both seats recline.

SO andie -would you mind awfully asking, when you see the mutsy ( you LUCKY thing!!! they're like golddust in the UK - half tempted to come to Holland just to have a look at the damn thing!!! ooh that's a thought actually...........) if you can recline the toddler seat at all......

I had a look at the mothercare one that is like the cosattoe duet that you have smiley, and there was no way that Hettie would sleep in that little seat.

I'm half tempted (and am clearly just rambling on here  ) to get the double maclaren that's really reasonable (vicki r did a post on it on HB the other day - looked great!!) and keep my bug for when I just take baby out.

BUT we live in a shoebox (town house) and there just isn't room for a proper double buggy AND the bug (which needs a postcode all on it's own  ) In fact, I've started using my Ziko all the time as the bug was just becoming too hard to take up and down.

I can sell the bug on ebay ( will do so once I make my fecking mind up  ) and actually only then pay about £150 for the mutsy which I can THEN sell so not too bad I wouldn't have thought.

ONLY issue is that it's impossible to feckign see one of the buggers in the UK. Went to a Mothercare Superhowsyerfather in Croydon last week and they don't even have it in stock there. And when I asked when they're getting it in....errr I don't know.......

SO the quest goes on........... :-( (actually getting bored of it right now and am tempted to just nick a trolley from sainsburys and pad it with a duvet and put them both in it  )

What a good idea, why did I not think of that :laff: :laff: :laff:

I am still thinking of the P&T but not 100%, part of me thinks it would be the best option as I dont want a "traditional" double as 3 days a week I will have baby on its own so dont want to be carrying round an empty seat. But then also I think should we just get a cheap double and use that on the days I have Miss E and use my Pramette again for the baby (which I do love for newborns) But same at Katkinn I dont want hundreds (well two but you know what I mean) of buggys/prams cluttering up my hallway.

I have tried the P&T (BJmac I "borrowed RGKs Elizabeth to try in it at the last Manchester meet :laff: ) and do like it, and my wonderful parents have kindly offered to get it for me, so money not a problem, but I just dont know

We are going the baby show in May so will have a look then at what is on offer.

Right ladies

I had a look again at the mutsy (o I need a smug smilie) and the potential for lowering the front toddler seat is limited.

Dylan is a wee thing but he is already a good size in the front seat and is head is above the back of the seat. IYSWIM.

The whole wobbly wheel thing (sorry can't remember the english term but in dutch its zwenkweil) is hard to get used to and a bit of a bugger for a klutz like me

HOWEVER

Its much lighter and shorter to push than the other Graco, topmark ones that they had in the shop.

They also showed us a board with a seat on it which DH wants as its a 1/4 of the price and now he has decided we don't feckin need a double whish is just BULL and he is only ever out walking with Dylan for an hour on a sunday.

So I am no closer to deciding but I think in the end I will go for it but I will wait until the baby is here as I don't plan to go far for the first month or so.

Apparently I won't be going far for about 3 months according to the sales assistant and DH. Yeah right its going to be the summer time.

Katkinn ask away if you have any questions
