We've all been invited to a friend's wedding in Edinburgh next December (22nd) 2007. I will have a one year old and an almost 4 year old by then!!!!:faint:
Can anyone recommend any family friendly hotels in the area??? We're planning on flying probably (can't face the drive!) and will probably stay a few days. Also, I'm guessing christmas is a mega expensive time and I'm wondering if we should book sooner rather than later???

He's DHs best mate from Uni - such a lovely lovely guy and we wouldn't miss it for the world. We're actually quite surprised he has asked us to bring the kids!!!!!:brainache: Edinburgh is somewhere I've always wanted to visit but never got round to so intend on spending a couple of days there.

Edinburgh is lovely. But then I'm biased. There is a whole Christmas events programme, ice-rink etc, and it's just generally gorgeous.
We do baby swimming here:

It's quite a bit out though. But it is fab. I would love to stay there. I think it's where Robbie stayed last time he did a gig here.
For cheap and cheerful there is a big Travel Inn at Haymarket. It has a bar etc so there is potential for sly drinkies with a baby monitor while the babs sleep.

Or for a slightly cheeper option you could stay in Glasgow and drive through (hire car) on the day of the wedding?
I'd definately say to book up very early no matter which you choose Edinburgh or Glasgow (come stay in Glasgow, much better than Edinburgh, and you don't want to run into Donna-j  )

Thanks for the tips girls, especially wrt the Marriott. DH has a shedload of Marriott rewards so we could use these up. We'll get a hire car when we get there so getting about won't be hard. I'm just emailing my mate to ask where exactly the wedding is so I can get my bearings. Just panicking at all the stuff I'll have to take with TWO kids!!!!!

I could lend you a buggy Lois, that would save having to cart it on and off the plane if it helps? And anything else you can of, just let me know.

Jane you're a star! Will keep your offer in mind. Just emailed the groom to find out exactly where the wedding is so we can figure out the best place to stay. Will it be Edinburgh, will it be Glasgow!!!!:scratchchin:
