Can't remember what the general concensus was about month/trimester threads..but thought I would start this one. I would like to wean myself from you know where but also want a refuge!

So, I am 19 weeks pregnant and well and truely in the seond trimester. I have stopped feeling ill but still waiting for the blooming to start. I have finally got a scan through today- 8th May which seems aggggeeesss away but it's probably not. I'm already trying to work out what I can do with dd as it's going to be a long appointment. I am still in denial, I keep forgetting that I am pregnant which is going to be harder to do soon as I am spurting out a lot at the front.

So 2nd trimester damsels, please come and say hello, I'll share my :choc: with you.....

another sept mummy here too... although I still post on t'other thread regularly!

I feel bubs all the time... it is so active... the MW who did my scan said she couldn't believe how much it was moving! she said prepare myself for a very awake active baby  I was in my scan for almost 2 hours (in and out) as baby kept moving loads and she couldn't get the measurements she needed  I just know this baby is going to be hard work

I'm not as blooming as in the 1st trimester :-( My skin has got very spotty. I only got a bump tho at 17 weeks

I'm 20+2 today and not feeling as tired anymore and my depression seems to be getting better, I dont feel so down as much anymore

Welcome and have some :choc:

GG that is so good your scan went well, are you sharing what you are having?

JT glad the baby is moving well, perhaps it will use up all its energy inutero and be very placid when it is born! It's good to know you are feeling less depressed too.

Adelelee  my baby doesn't move a lot too. My scan is aggggeeeessss away.

 GG - dont feel bad, are you telling or keeping a secret???? btw you will have to let me know when you are next visiting Oxford and we will try to meet!!!

SP - I think leaving my house and finally accepting my ex doesnt want anything to do with baby have helped. Also making plans is helping too as it keeps me busy!

oh hello everyone! i think the trimester threads are a good idea as you don't end up with a clique cos you've got people joining and leaving the whole time.

i have totally lost track of how many weeks i am (bad mummy!) but think i'm around 22 ish.

adele, i didn't feel the baby move till at least 20 weeks this time, it was around the time of my scan so may have been a little bit later even. splash was on the go from 16 weeks so i wouldn't worry too much.

oooh gg! you can't tell us you know and then not tell us! we'll feed you :doughnuts: until you crack. or vomit. whichever comes sooner.

well i am 'working from home' today as i am generally knackered and couldn't face going in, the train ride and generally being sociable. anyone else feel like that?

oh yeah, and it gives me time to clean the house and bake for the mums group coming round on sat am which i wouldn't otherwise have time to do. v convenient eh!

Thats made me feel better, thanks hun. Its just that Eliza was wriggling away from about 16+3 so I thought this one would be the same. I "thought" I felt it a couple of weeks ago but was not sure and have felt nothing since.

I have been in a terrible state this week, crying all week because I am sure something awful has happened. DH wanted to go to the hosp but I just said it was wasting their time but in truth I was too scared to, what if they told me something awful :-( :-(

Anyway only a few more days and then I will know either way, dont want to sound like a drama queen but please pray all is well, I am really worried :-( :-(

aw adele, sending you lots of :heartlipstick: and :chicken:

i know how worried you must be as i felt the same - was only really convinced i was actually pregnant at the 20 week scan. i drove mr backson insane by going on about what if i wasn't really pregnant, or what if there was something wrong. its sooooo hard when you don't have any day to day 'proof' isn't it.

you will start to feel kicking in the next couple of weeks almost definitely, and then you'll get no peace till, er about 25 years time!

in the meantime i totally sympathise with the worry, but i guess nothing will really put your mind at rest until you have your scan. or can you pop and see your midwife and get her to listen to the heartbeat?

so sorry you're feeling miz,

lots of love

hi girls

Yay GG on the boy! :ellie: :ellie:

I will let you into my secret... I think I would prefer another girl! There are many reasons behind this and I wanted to know so much as I could prepare emotionally incase it was a boy... my ex has a son who he sees all the time and loves to bits, but wants nothing to do with this baby so I just think having a boy would be so hard, even tho I would love it I worry it could trigger PND more so than a girl as I already have depression :-(

I am hoping its a girl as the MW said she couldn't see 'boy bits', but I don't want to get my hopes up too much, just incase!

Adele - I never realised you were so worried about not feeling any movements! can you speak to your MW? would listening to the HB put your mind at rest? I read somewhere (on Dams I think) that the feeling of movement is caused by baby kicking/touching the nerves in your uterus so maybe the baby is just not near enough to the nerves for you to feel it???

Wow GG, a boy. :) :ellie:

I am not sure whether to find out or not. Last time, I think I wanted a boy slightly more than a girl, I thought I was also having a boy until the very end. But I am pleased I have a beautiful girl and would not swop her for all the tea in China.

This time, I really do have no preference. It would be nice to have a boy altough I don't like the phrase 'one of each' it makes them sound like a cruet set! But a girl would be nice too as we could use dd's teeny tiny clothes again.

I like the names Oliver and Maxwell too. My sister reallylikes the name Maxwell so I wouldn't use it though. Current other boy favs are Edward, Jude, Benjamin. I have a load more for girls, Rose, Scarlett, Juliette, Phyllis, Phillippa, Stella, Trixie and Adela. We can't really have names that end in -y like Poppy as our surname ends in -y and it makes it sound too much of a mouthful.

I love the chooice at the moment, but when it's nearer the time and we haven't got a name I'll probably be fretting!

I like Oliver and Maxwell GG they are lovely names! I have Jacob on my shortlist for boys... I will spell it Jakob tho as I want to shorten it to Jake. My other boys name is Lachlan. I really can't decide between them. My girls names are now shortlised to Rihana or Roxanne and again I love both so can't choose
