My contract here at uni goes to 1.5 full days a week from September, so I'm actually aiming to do 3 short days (Tues-Thurs 9.45am-1.45pm with 15mins for lunch :thumb: ) and am registering as a childminder to do before/after school 5 days a week and school holidays on Mondays and Fridays. I was having a chat at nursery where Adam will stay, but obviously on shorter - so cheaper :cheer2: - days. Anyway, he gets his govt. preschool funding from January 2010, and as he'll be attending for less than the 15hrs of funding, he will be FREE to send to nursery in term-time  :faint: I didn't realise that would happen, I assumed they could only count the official 2.5hr sessions on those three days (ie when the kids who are preschool only come in), so would obviously save me some money but I'd still have to pay the difference. But no, it seems I was wrong (maybe it's a recent change?) and so from Jan it will make a HUGE difference financially :woohoo: . So after 5.5 years of childcare costs I'll actually be in the situation where I have NONE, except in school holidays (and if I can get some mindees two days a week then they might well cover what I'm paying out for my two on the other three days :fingercrossed: ) :cheer2: :ellie:
Sorry, NRR, I'm just really chuffed to find that out! (just need to get written confirmation that my uni contract will start Sept 1st and that those hours are fine :fingerscrossed: :brainache: ).
