Who saw this the other night?
I have to say I really wasn't keen, but DH really wanted to see it so I watched it with him, and I have to say I thought it was FAB! Lots and lots of laugh out loud bits (prob far more than the original TBH).
I think they've done the original proud.
What did you think?

The jury is still out here - I absolutely loved the orig (with a passion - there was something increadibly funny about leonard rossieter) and although there were some bits that made me LOL there was just something lacking and i cant work out what it is - lets see next week
and i hated the secretary btw they got that so wrong IMO

Actually yes the secretary wasn't great.
But I loved the way they didn't try to recreate the original too much, like the way he walked past sunshine desserts and into another company.

We thought it was good, we were surprised too. I still don't think Martin Clunes is right for the role, but we laughed at some bits.

Ach b*ll*cks I forgot that it was on
No, didnt like it. I remember the original very well. Martin Clunes is the wrong man for the role. Would need to have cast an unknown as its big role to fill. Secretary wasnt much cop either.
And to repeat it on a sat night after being onthe night before was rubbish:no:
I quite enjoyed it. Only Martin Clunes could get away with that deadpan look as he made hilarious comments about periods to a group of women!

I loved it (but I have never seen the original, so can't compare!)

I recorded it and am planning on watching it with DH later, tbh i don't think there is ANY WAY on this Earth that Martin Clunes can do any perfornance of Leonard Rossiters justice  i can't see me liking it, but i am prepared to be plesantly surprised.

Re: the Martin Clunes being right for the role, I think he is.
I don't think he's trying to better LR for one minute, I think he's made the role his own really well, and does deadpan fantastically.
But then, b'cos it's so different to the original, I don't find myself comparing the two :happyno:
