One of the Mum's from the school is a little bit worried, she's gone private for her Son who is 13m to have his MMR jabs separately, he's had the 1st bit today but she's told that they have NO vaccination for mumps atm and that the entire country is in short supply and she's unlikely to find it anywhere so they've refunded her the money for that part of the jab. She's got to take him back in a few weeks for the Rubella part of the jab.
Now what happens if it doesn't come back in stock? Does he just NEVER get vaccinated for mumps? Or will she just have to go ahead with the FULL MMR on the NHS regardless of the fact he's already had 2 3rds of the vaccination anyway :puzzled:
I don't really know much about havign them separately as Lucy had her MMR and Max will have his as it comes.
My friend is concerned as she's read that if boys get mumps it can be really dangerous and can make them infertile :brainache: (i've honestly NO IDEA if this is true or not) there is already measles going round teh School atm so i'm a bit :brainache: about Max catching it as he's not had his MMR yet and won't; for at least another 4-6wks.
