I've been running, quite a bit lately but not since Saturday. For the past few weeks I've been getting some ankle pain, its been fine for me to carry on with my running. On Saturday I did 2-3miles (i've been further) but my ankle (left worse than right) got so sore. The bone that sticks out (not sure of the technical term?!) on the inside is slightly swollen. It constantly aches and is a bit throbby iyswim.
Is it worth bothering my doctor?
I think I need better cushioning from my trainers but atm its too sore to think about running for now. I haven't ran since Saturday.
Is it just purely from rubbish running shoes?

Its still sore, and I haven't ran since Saturday, I've been keeping it raised. I had a bath yesterday which seemed to help. It seems particularly sore today but I did go for a walk at lunchtime so perhaps that didn't help.

I would go and see your doctor if it's still causing you pain. And buy some decent running shoes! You should replace them every six months if you're running regularly...
My mum had on going pain in her ankle (on and off over two years) after she had a bit of a fall whilst running, and it turned out she had actually broken the end of her fibula (one of the main bones in your lower leg) and she's just had to have surgery on it.

I only got my shoes about 6wks ago (reebok dmx) they felt all cushioned and light on shop but perhaps I need more. I'll try and get to the doc this week (but h has cp).
Thanks bubbasweet hope your mum is back running soon.
