Fist off I don't make my own meatballs but I buy the Tesco beef meatballs and the tesco sweedish style ones.
I tend to do the sweedish ones in a creamy sauce a la Ikea - pork stock cube, elmlea and a splash of soy sauce and the beef ones in a tomato based sauce - garlic, onions, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree and herbs
But I'm looking for some different ideas?

I tend to do mine in a tomato sauce (originally from Skysie - do you remember that recipe from yonks ago Noo Noo?!!! :laff: )
Thinking about it though - how about an onion gravy style sauce?
Mustard sauce?
How about jazzing the tomato sauce to a goulashy flavour with lots of peppers and paprika?
Some form of chilli sauce?
I don't know how well this would work but sweet and sour sauce or a smoky bbq sauce?
I'm not really that good at knowing what meats would be good with what sauces though! Well - apart from say lamb meatballs with mint sauce!!!!! :laff: :laff: :laff:
I rarely make my own either  but when Waitrose make them so well why bother :laff:
I prefer a quite simple tomato or tomato and chilli sauce with lots of parmesan on top. I'm really fancying these now !

I'm liking the idea of a mustard sauce with the sweedish style ones - will give that a try.
Spicy, chilli and/or peppers don't go down well with the kids unfortunately
