Because Amelia shunt is now in her chest I called the DLA to update them thinking that would be that but no I have to fill more forms out again and go though the whole process again. And it still takes 12 weeks even though she already has DLA :faint:

How come it takes 12 weeks??
From my original application to recieving the award only took 3 weeks:puzzled:
However I am appealing my award and that is taking months:rolleyes:

No idea the lady just said it would roughly 12 weeks to go though, sounds wrong to me as its only an update. My 1st application took ages to go though.
Good luck with the appeal.

I received a conformation that they had received my original form stating 12 weeks but actually took about a month. I think they quote a longer time so they have no chance of failing on standards and getting complaints!
We have another 2 months yet before all the form filling again when we apply for mobility - i really don't see why you have to complete the whole form again when the original care component was given for 5 years!
But their way they must save a fortune on the parents that are so daunted by the idea of completing the form they put it off for a while!

It's stupid all the forms you have to fill in, i noticed it is quicker and easier to fill in online and they were quick aswell when i reapplied before christmas about 6wks i think in total from me filing it in, to getting my back dated money

I didn't know you could do that! Definitely will try next time as I copied and wrote a practise form so i could jiggle about with it first.
Can you still attach further information to it?
