Last week I was shopping and called into M&S for something to eat and to look for some PJ's for Del as now she is standing up she almost slips over on the floor wearing sleepsuits. We went to the cafe first (it's new) and the tables and chairs were all set up for 2 people but too close together to get a pushchair and a highchair near. There were other mums struggling too and it was impossible to get round and there was nowhere to leave pushchairs either. We practically had to rearrange the room to get a lady and her newborn through to sit down.
The lady serving on the till rolled her eyes at me  as I was a little bit slow ordering and getting out of the way and there were loads of dirty tables and she was gossiping. By the time I left I was :hissyfit: as the tables were teeny and Del was grabbing for hot drinks all the while as they were in her reach.

Next I went to try and get Del some PJ's and there wasn't much in her size but these ones with 'Does my bum look big in this'? on the front  and since I just wanted something pretty for her to wear in bed, not have people evaluate the size of her bum I left without buying anything.

When i got home I was still a bit :sigh: and decided to email and (politely) tell them the problems I'd had and I had a really quick response from the head office and the email from the store manager was even better. They said they were looking into getting the cafe changed and admitted there had been numerous comments about the unsuitable pj's. I thought that was an end to it as I'd had an answer but this mornign I had £25 of vouchers in the post so :ellie: to M&S. I always feel a bit silly and petty complaining about things and was expecting a vague reply. Reminded me of Minky and her tankini saga

:ellie: Result! Are you going to treat yourself with the vouchers?

You've reminded me I still haven't wrote to Boots about their shoddy nappies yet (had a few in the pack that the tab came off in my hand when I was putting the nappy on). £25 Boots vouchers would do me nicely

That's fab about the vouchers :ellie:. I think it's always good to give constructive critisms, I don't suppose they ever understand their mistakes we don't tell them. I've not seen those pj's and I'm not surprised there have been complaints as it just seems totally inapproriate - talk about starting them young . Grrr at the till lady too, I hope the bad karma fairy brings her something extra nice :teehee:.

Great result! It's nice to actually be listened to by big stores for a change.

:ellie: That's really nice of them and fab for you.

The M&S by me is a nightmare at the moment, everything is packed in so closely it makes it impossible to get around with a pram :hissyfit:

Totally inappropriate IMO  Well done you for writing in and complaining AG. Enjoy spending your vouchers

That is really ngreat news AG :thumb:
I agree with the others shops need constructive critisism in order to improve. You have probably increased their profits in reality . Imagine the amount of mums and families that wouldn't of used their cafe a second time. Now if they improve it you and many more are more likely to go back .

Make sure you buy something nice

AG - Unrelated to M&S but I also love to get Lola pretty PJs

The white company sale has only just finished and I got some little rosebud ones for £9 that are gorgeous.

They have some pretty ones still, quite pricy, but they wash lovely.
