I no a few of you have been here and we were saying today about going away this xmas and maybe going there...

Its normally only a 3/4 day break thing though isnt it & to be honest i dont think we would want more than a week there max anyway!!!

Is it worth going to with a 2 year old, well he will be 2 years 4 months by then??

Those that went did you go by car on the eurotunnel and then drive to Disneyland or is there another way of getting there. I think i would prefer to drive to be honest!!!!

I bet xmas time is real expensive to isnt it alot more that would it would be November.....

Or we were thinking maybe going somewhere abroad where it is still warm?

I went with my ex in December a few years ago, it really wasn't that dear, and was nice as it was all decorated up but it was bloody freezing, and I mean REALLY REALLY COLD! We only went for 3 days and that was more than enough, as I didn't think it was that big. I would have thought there was enough for a little one to do there, although I don't think I will take Isabel there in the future, we would prefer to go to Florida again.

We went for the Halloween season/Bonfire night thing, the day after they change it all to be the Christmas season. We were there on the day they were changing it, tbh it looked absolutely lovely, but all very "mickey mouse" which isn't my idea of Christmas but each to his own.

Halloween was more expensive than Christmas (we wanted to go at Christmas so costed both) it cost us in the region of £2000 for three days at Halloween (2 adults, 2 kids), but we flew. We've been twice and the first time wasn't in any special season and was the better time we went - the prices go up a lot in a "special" season (halloween, easter, xmas etc). You can drastically reduce the price, depending on where you stay - hotels in Disneyland Park are more expensive but there are places to stay within a short distance but not actually in the park - and courtesy buses to get you there and back.

I do think it's worth going with a 2½ yr old, Harry was just turned 4 and Emmy 5. But there were loads of small kids there and it's very much aimed at small kids too. There's a lot of walking I found, even though we stayed in the park (newport bay hotel) so Alfie would probably need a buggy, esp at night.

If you want a 3 day break I'd say Disneyland as it's so lovely to see the kids' faces, they're completely taken in by the magic of it all. And the adults are too :laff: I think 3/4 days is just about right to see the whole place - any more and it would become too much.

Anything else you want to know just ask

Was the hotel you stayed out in the resort of disneyland or on the outskirts?

You flew there? didnt think of that, did you then get transfers from the airport to the hotel!!!

How many days is enough there???? how long does it take to get round and get on the rides?

I stayed at the New York which was only about 5-10 min walk from the park. We flew and there are shuttle buses that run about every half hour from the airport to Disneyland and take you direct to the hotels.

We went for 4 nights so had 3 full days and 2 half days there. That was probably long enough to get to do most things - didn't get to do any shows apart from Wild West one - but the queues were quite long as was summer hols so you'd prob be able to do more at that time of year as it may be quieter.

Where is the best place to get prices then, and are the hotels included in the prices of the park entry???????

There's a special bus from CDG airport, from there to your hotel in Disney.

The first time we went we stayed at the Sequoia Lodge which is a Disney Hotel within the resort - but still probably a 10 minute walk or there were courtesy busses. Last time it was the Explorers Hotel which is described as being "Close to the Magic" Its not a Disney Hotel per say but it still has characters in it and a disney shop and there are courtesy shuttle busses to the park. Personally I felt it was better value for money and it also had a better pool and kids play areas etc.

There is a Disney Bus that runs from CDG to the resort dropping off at all the major hotels. Cant remember how much it cost but you just buy a return ticket when you get on.

I'd say you need 2 Days at Disneyland Park and 1 Day at the Studios. I guess it depends on if you just want to go on all the rides onece and if you wnat to see all the shows and all the parades - and of course loads of shops!! There is also the Disney Village full of shops, resturants, bars and nightlife.

The queues for the rides were not too bad. The do fastpass and they also do baby swap for the bigger rides that Alfie wouldn't be able to go on. Also if you go on rides when the parades are on its quieter and also first thing and last thing in the day.

Our entry tickets were included at the hotel. I booked the hotel direct at www.disneyland.co.uk (http://www.disneyland.co.uk) and my flights seperately - worked out loads cheaper than doing it as a package!

I agree with noo noo that you need around 1 day at studios and 2 for park - but tbh we only spent half day at studios cos some of it was too big and noisy for the children - lots of special effects type rides.

The bus was 16 euro for adult and 13 euro for children - Alfie may go free tho - can't remember the ages but could prob look out the timetable!

Yes it is cold but it is fine as long as you are prepered. We all had thermals - vests and long johns and hats and gloves etc etc. Lots of people were in ski wear. There were some kids we saw that were absolutely freezing - theire parents obviously hadn't thjought it through at all. I remember two kids inparticular with blue lips and shivvering.

All the rooms at the New York have 2 double beds. It gives you the option to enter the ages of kids to full capacity.

I would definitely go back to the New York or maybe try the Sequoia Lodge as that looks really nice as well.

The only thing that out me off about Florida is the size of the park - there was more than enough walking to do. I probably wouldn't take Rebecca to Florida until she was a bit older.

Flight is about an hour. I flew from Heathrow with BMI and they are pretty cheap if you book in advance.

ChelseaHarvey
28-08-2006, 09:37pm
Ok so this is what i now have putting in different dates

Disney Sequoia Lodge
24/28th = £796
24/26th = £470

Cheyenne
24/26th = £480
23/26th = £552

New York
23/27th = £992
24/27th = £796
These are prices from mind

Flights when i go on BMI from Gatwick it gives me destination Abu Dahbi :puzzled:

ETA: I see if you go from heathrow it gives you more options whats the airport in france i need?

Toots

£236 to get the eurostar directly into disneyland

So with that going on the cheapest hotel i would get all in fromabout £706
The most expensive hotel and eurostar would be £1.228

Hi Chelsea,

Sorry coming to this thread late, but we were there a couple of years ago over New years, and stayed in a hotel about 5 mins from the park, but it wasn't an official Disney hotel. Not much difference, they had complimentary shuttle buses to and from the park all day and basically everyone staying in the hotel was because they were visiting the park.

I just did a quick google and a picture of the hotel is here:
http://www.autoplanhols.co.uk/Disneyland_Hotels_mk2/hotel_disney_kyriad.htm

It says 2* but i thought it was 3*. You pay a room rate and it includes breakfast and it worked out so much cheaper for us, as the offical Disney hotels were way too expensive over New Years etc. I am nearly sure the price per room was approx €90 per night, definetley under €100 anyway.

We had to ring direct to book - the telephone number is: +33 1 60 43 61 61

If you have any questions, let me know.

Good luck
xx

Thanxs for that Calgirl

Well i spoke to dean and if we get get somewhere for about the £500 mark and flights quite cheap which yesterday were comming up at £44 per adult then were going to do it :cheer2:

Il have a look at that link, and then i think im going to go through them again and maybe phone for a def price

Those that went did you just stay in your hotel/resort fior the days you were there or did you go out as well?? I take it there is enough to kee you entertained in the evenings

Did you spend much money? Is the food expensive there for lunch evening meals etc?

calgal
29-08-2006, 02:08pm
No problem - defo worth ringing and getting a quote, but i really think it will be under €100 per room, which is good as it includes buffet breakfast.

Here is the link on trip advisor with other reviews:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g226865-d487413-r5531428-Kyriad_Disneyland_Resort_Paris-Marne_la_Vallee_Ile_de_France.html

We only stayed 2 nights and the first night we had dinner in Disney village - there are restaurants there for all budgets, some gorgeous restaurants at the top end of the scale but yet they also have McDonalds.
Here is link:
http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/disney_village/eating_out/restaurants.htm

The 2nd night we were there, was New Years Eve and the park was open until after midnight, so we spent the evening there. The Kyriad hotel has a dinner option and if i remember correctly it was very reasonable.

let us know what you decide
