I know how hard it is already to get places in some areas, so can imagine its going to get worse.

My 11 year old cousin hasn't been in school since september because she didn't get a place at any of her closest schools(offered 1 place at a bad school 6 miles away). She was 4th on the list for her local but I suppose she could get pushed down again if this report is anything to go by(she is in London).

Our problem is not getting into a *good* school in preference to a *bad* one, It's getting into a school at all :shrug:

I have 6 schools all within easy walking distance. All are good schools. It's simply there are too many children and not enough places. You literally have to live within 100-200m of a school now :shrug:

That's primary, secondary is apparently even worse :brainache:

The local selective school had 1500 children try out for 90 places - crazy!

The whole system sucks...
