We're going to friends for a meal on Saturday and need to take a starter. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can make?

I'd like to be able to make it in advance if poss.

TIA

I'm trying to think what's easy to transport :scratchchin:

How about pate? Bookie recommended a lovely recipe for Port and Stilton pate which you could serve with some nice crusty bread. Very easy to make and you could do it in advance if you wanted.

Cathcot gave me the recipe for the most divine (and easy ) smoked trout pate.

I think pate is perfect at this time of year  (any old pate btw - not necessarily the fish one!)
