S has her first primary school nativity play at 2.40, OH said he was going to take the afternoon off work to go. Have been pestering him to find out when M's Christmas concert is so that I can get his costume ready and go myself - turns out it is at 3pm on the same day with a tea party and visit from Father Christmas afterwards.
Either M misses his concert and party to come to S's or one of us has to go to one and the other the other.

I have a similar dilemma. DS's first school play on 11th December but the same day DD has a panto rehearsal at the theatre AND I have to beg them to let her off for two hours to go and do a tap exam as well! WHY is it all on the same day?!
Personally I would split and one of you do one and the other goes to see the other child. I've seen too many children break down in tears when they can't see a relative so always make sure someone is there!

It can't be helped but it's such a shame isn't it - must be so much harder the more children you have. Hope you can resolve your one BM and that your dd's exam goes well.
I always try and make sure OH goes to anything that parents are invited to at M's school (they are in the same building) but often he refuses as he doesn't like going to them :bwahaha:.
I think splitting it so one of you goes to each is the only way really - at least that way the children don't miss out and you can still go and watch (one of you anyway!). It is mad how everything seems to be on the same day though, not just this but anytime, it's always the way with us, nothing for months then eg 3 invites on the same day!

I think I would split too
We were disappointed so see last night that both performances of Fins nativity are in the mornings. We're in the lucky position that DH is home in the afternoons, so if just one had been in the afternoon he could have gone. Also means to be there for Fin I have to take both girls with me and try to keep them calm, etc.

It's funny isn't it Roo, some friends started arranging a meal out months ago and rough dates were set, we always go out on a Friday so I thought it would be a Friday. Some other friends put forward the same weekend for a yearly all day get-together, we said we were free and it was arranged for the Sat, as it is 100 miles away and my family live nearby we planned to go and stay. The other friends then said the meal out was on the Sat. Then a day out for the children to see Father Christmas was arranged for the Sat and someone invited us for drinks + nibbles on the Sunday!
4/5 things on one day!
We had nothing at all planned for the weekend before or after!
