I've had a crackling in my left ear for a while now. At first I thought it might be water from the shower but I've come to the conclusion it's a bit of yukky wax that's wriggling around in there

I can hear it when I move my ear, when I lie down and move my head, and it's driving me crackers! :loco:

What's the best thing I can do shift it, apart from digging around with a cotton bud- which I don't fancy as I'm very clumsy atm and might dig my brain out!

It sounds like it is further down than a cotton bud could reach (without damage ). Have you tried flushing your ear with warmish water? I'd put some in, lie down and let it sit, then turn over to drain it. It might not all drain right away if it gets trapped behind the gunk.

Thankyou! I tried doing this a couple of times and it seemed to work for a few days but it's come back:hissyfit: thinking of trying some of those ear drop thingies they advertise on the tv for people with super-mucky ears

Go and get your ears syringed at the docs. DH assures me it's a very pleasant sensation (or maybe he just fancies the nurse  )
