View Full Version : Damn hormones

If I was in any doubt of my status atm I had two obvious hormonal moments today. After running myself ragged all day baking I was lying on the sofa when P crawled onto me. I asked her not to climb on me and she carried on, put her arms around me and said 'I love you Mummy'. Cue me bursting into tears on the sofa and DH thinking I've gone completely mad  :laff:

Then I was icing the bunny cake that I've made for my easter egg hunt tea tomorrow and my darned icing tool has broken. Cue lots of swearing followed by lots of tears, threatening to call everyone up and cancel etc etc and me thinking the end of the world is nigh!. Eventually I patched it up and DH and I agreed to tell people it's a tired bunny, bit ragged round the edges from delivering so many eggs this year :laff: :laff: :laff:

And I have another 8 months of these up and down mood swings to go - YAY!!!  :laff:

Oh hun
:hugs:
I've been pretty up and down at times but the up times have been a lot more frequent and prolonged than last time ;-)
But like you, it's always been the tiny things that have set me off. James has recently been really huggy and kissy and I often have tears in my eyes when he asks me for a "big hug, a big kiss and a big butterfly kiss" :girllove: The wee ones seem to know how to set us mummies off :D
Have a wonderful day tomorrow - tired bunny and all ;-)

Thanks Shamu - my cake won't be the only tired bunny there, I'm shattered!!! :laff:

I'm determined to enjoy this pregnancy as I was such a miserable old boot last time - with the sickness, SPD etc. Have just ordered P the book Mummy has a House in her Tummy and DH and I have agreed to keep her totally involved, when the time comes to tell her.

Really ought to go to bed now - thanks for not saying I'm a mad old baggage!!! :laff:

Take care

Aww bless you honey, those bluddy hormones   I have been a complete crying wreck this time round, in work the other week I was hysterical and all because I had to do another hour on the phones

That book sounds great, wonder if Miss E is too young to take it in, we talk about the baby all the time and she kisses my tummy when I say where is the baby, might have a look at it.

You take care of yourself hun

Adele - I think it's such a nice story that it doesn't matter if she doesn't "get" it iyswim. It's written by the chap who did the Purple Ronnie stuff and he got the inspiration when his wife was pregnant with their second (in fact turned out to be their second AND third  ), And the illustrations are lovely too :D
Lois - I was a miserable cow last time too. I was signed off night work due to the stress from 8 weeks and proceeded to get bullied by my consultants  Also really sick and exhausted from day one, but this time things have been different (helps that I'm working in a much less stressful and hence more understanding environment) so will keep my fingers for you too. History does not have to repeat itself
Lots of love
