Well we have ordered the laminate floor (got a great price in an Easter Sale) and have chosen J's single bed and will be ordering it on Wednesday (when the shop re-opens).

I'm going to get some of those allergy mattress covers too.

Of course we dont have a definite on a dust allergy yet, but it gives me an excuse to get rid of the manky carpet in his room which has been boked on more times that I can shake a pukey stick at when he had reflux.

Good ideas there Lola
Other things to consider -
Try "damp dusting" - get a damp microfibre cloth (easy to pick up at most supermarkets) and give the room a wipe a couple of times a week. This method picks up the dust and keeps it on the cloth whereas "normal" dusting just spreads it about.
If you need to replace your hoover at any time go for the most expensive you can afford, as they will pick up the most dirt possible
Air J's mattress as often as possible - turn in over once every 2 weeks if you can (the dust mites at the top will then be at the bottom iyswim)
Will post any more tips as I think of them :D

Thanks Shamu.

I switced to microfibre about a month back and I cant believe the difference it makes to dusting.
Thanks for all the tips!
