After all these years, have to say I thought the parent/s were to blame

I have followed this case with interest over the years and I am still not convinced the parents weren't involved somehow :puzzled:

just read it,
it said they fell in love with each other, a 31 year old man fell in love with a 6 year old
Oh my god and the mum died this year too. That is a shame.

“They fell in love with each other. She was very beautiful. So he kidnapped her and killed her by accident,” he said.

Wrong on so many levels.

She was a child, FFS - those feckin pageants.
The whole thing has made me sick, I certainly thought the parents were fairly odd but this new developement has left me speechless. If her parents had nothing to do with it then I feel sorry for the mum if she died before this all came to light - at least maybe the father will take some comfort in the news that its no longer unsolved as such

Yep it makes my skin crawl!
Read the comments page. Seems like a lot of people aren't buying this "confession".

Read the comments page. Seems like a lot of people aren't buying this "confession".I don't see that? I just see a lot of comments saying they hope the family can get some closure now.
I've never understood why the media and the public decided "someone in the family must have done it".

I must admit, all the evidence was pointed at the parents.
It's such a sad story.

I think the reason why people decided that someone in the family did it was the whole issue of dressing her up like some 6 year old porn star. The parents made the choice to dress her like that and I do think it is bad to do this, and if they were :loco: enough to dress her like that, then might not they also be mad enough to kill her? This isn't my opinion, btw, I just think it's what the media inadvertently suggested.

did anyone seen the documentary "Who Killed Jon Benet?" a few years ago. It really haunted me for ages afterwards.

I haven't gone through all the pages but most of the comments that I have seen either say: -
a) He's saying he did it so to be extridited back to the U.S. rather than be held in a Thailand Prison.
b) Are still acussing a member of the family
or c) are speculating that this man is known to the family.

I never understood it either. There seemed very little basis for the accusations made against the parents, and even her brother (10 at the time) was suspected by some people. The evidence was so woolly - like they said there was snow around the house and no footprints to show an intruder, but I've seen the photos and there was barely any snow on the ground anyway. And then there were things like the fact Jon Benet had a stun gun used on her neck - why would the parents need to do that before killing her?
Really sad that the mum died this year, but she'd been ill for years :-(
I hope this is a genuine confession so the case can be closed.

I so agree, if he did do it/witnessed it, i hope it is a true confession and not lies. so sad
I thought the parents were loco but I never thought they killed her. I saw footage on the news today when I was at the gym. I would never let Lulah be dressed and made up like that at 6 years old :sigh:
Minky
They are now doubting he did it: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14399340/?GT1=8404
I've always felt the parents were innocent.

There's something on the news tonight about how this isn't true. Poor family, I wish they could solve it.
The man who confessed, was apparently not there on the date, according to his ex wife. He has a 'sick obsession' with Jonbenet.

As far as I've read, there is no proof whatsoever to back up that he was even there! How can he prove it? I will be reading up on it to see the developments as it's a bit wierd, I saw this in the news a decade ago and thought "what a crazy country, glad I don't live there" now I'm in the middle of it.

He seems like a complete sicko - there was something in a paper I read yesterday saying they thought it was made up because of inconsistancies with his story, and that he was obsessed with child murder. It is so sad he seems to need locking up!
I don't understand those beauty pagents though, they must be a real money spinner because why would they have them?! To me they just leave to many avenues for exploitation. I remember seeing a documentary on them a couple of years ago and the poor we kiddies were crying backstage as their hair was wildly back-combed.
ETA they still have DNA samples from her finger nails that they'll use to proove/disproove him

I do not think they have the right man either. After reading the papers he seems like someone who wants to take all the glory from a crime he did not commit. According to his ex wife he was hundreds of miles away when the crime was committed.I think those beauty pageants should be banned. It is disgusting to see young girls paraded around like that.
