Joseph was developed a pin prick like rash all over his face, some are little spots.

My mum thought it was measles, but as I pointed out he has had his MMR, I doubt that is what it is..but I do wonder if it is chicken pox?
What should I watch out for?
At the moment, the rash is confined to his face. He has a slight temp, runny nose (nothing new there) and has had a couple of small nose bleeds :-(

He is generally in good form though, but was unsettled last night,

I think Chickenpox usually starts on the trunk - has he got any blisters on his tummy or back or is it just his face?

Difficult to say without seeing it, but chicken pox spots are usually more like blisters than pin prick spots. Most likely to be a reaction to whatever virus is causing his temp but keep an eye how it progresses.

My dd is having chicken pox (hopefully post infectious today :) )and her spots started behind her ears, in her nappy area and on her tum. They definitely look like blisters more than spots (not all of them do this but the bigger ones do. She didn't seem very ill for the first 2 days but has been tired and grumpy since it set in. She also has quite a cough.

Is it possible he has eaten something that doesn't agree with him- I guess this would only happen if they were around his mouth.

Hopefully he will be on the mend soon.

Thanks folks, I imagine it is just a viral rash as it hasn't got any worse.

He is a grumpy little sausage tonight, but temp is being controlled nicely with calpol and nurofen.
