I think a few of us had bfps this week, can we start an April mums thread?

I saw the doctor this morning (the one who can NEVER say my name right) and she put my due date as April 10th. (Babycentre says April 9th - how are they different? I have cycle of 28 days :puzzled:) which makes me a mere 5 weeks pregnant.

Note to Damsels - make sure you are using hpt and not ovulation kits in unmarked wrappers from 18 months ago!!:doh::doh:

Apart from odd dreams and a big appetite (already!!) I am feeling pretty good. However I am looking after my niece as well as B for the summer holiday so ask me again in 3 weeks how tired I am! :brainache:

congrats again kerry and congrats to the other arpil mummies, I know there are a few around:ellie:

kerry my doc worked my edd to be 28th March:puzzled: also based on 28day cycle, which is so wrong, on 28day cycle my would be 26th but due to earlier OV its 25th. I think theyjust use that circle thing which isnt always accurate. with my scan yest I am spot on with my dates:thumb:

Thanks FT, to you as well! :ellie: It's an eternity till I'll get a scan.. have you posted your scan pics? Yes that little circle thing was a day out with me last time... not that the due date meant a thing last time!

Meanwhile I'll just sit here on my own awaiting others to join me

Ooh congratulations Kerry! That is fantastic news!

Funkytotts and Kerry I really don't understand how the docs get such different dates :puzzled: It makes my brain :brainache: thinking about it :teehee:

I am  that I will be an April mummy too.

Baby centre has calculated my due date as 15 April. I think i am 4 weeks and 5 days today.

I am pretty terrified to be honest but I am hoping lightening will not strike twice (I had a mc last October).

I am going to see my consultant on Tuesday (I have been taking Metformin to help with falling pregnant) and then i guess I will need to make an appointment to see my GP.

I only have sore :boobies: and occasional nausea. I am really hoping for super stonking symptoms over the coming weeks.

I hope we both have super sticky happy pregnancies!

Thanks for starting the thread too! I hope that there will be lots of other April mummies coming over to join us really soon.

Congratulations girls!! I'm so happy for you and also a little bit  as I was an April mummy this year. I can remember how excited I was getting my bfp. You enjoy every minute of it (even the sickness if you can ) because you'll miss it so much when you've not got a bump anymore, even though you've got a gorgeous wee bundle. I have major bump envey just now  Anyway I digress, congratulations again and a happy, healthy pregnancy to all of you

Just being very nosey and congrats guys!
Plus, Kerry your date may be different as your Doc may have worked it out using a leap year and baby centre may not have (I'm sure I had this!!)

Congrats all - I am so pleased to see these April bfps! I was originally a May mum but clearly X thought that April was a much better month to be born in:teehee:

I'm going to be shamelessly lurking here!

mrsnozza
10-08-2008, 08:47pm
I'm an April mummy too:wave:

I have been lurking around in march mummies though as I was one of the first I think (posted my BFP thread about 2 weeks ago, EDD April 4th)

So, I'm just 6 weeks and sickness has well and truly kicked in - it was my birthday on Friday and I had to cancel a meal with my DH and another with a close friend because I feel so:zombie: . God knows how I am going to manage to get through work this week (no-one knows yet).

I've seen my GP to get in the system, have to phone to book an appointment with the mw, but am leaving that a couple of weeks.

Congratulations to you all and looking forward to this thread getting busier!

Yay! More of you on here, hurrah!
Is it slightly crazy that I am already thinking about names? None of them seem to go with Brooke. I went to a barbecue today and couldn't stop eating. I am going to be huge and obsessed with names for 9 months!

Congrats to Claire and MrsNozza! Shall I start a signature with our dates in? Are you going to find out the sex? I shall be having another surprise.

Peridot that could explain the discrepancy... it is an extra day in a leap year isn't it?

Ajedrez you lurk away, very welcome!

And thank you Funky_Totts and Calamity, I will try to enjoy being sick and tired, in a very thankful way.

Mrs Nozza congrats to you too!! Yeah, there are three of us now. There are two other Damsels that I remember posting about their BFP's. I hope they will be along to join us soon.

It must be really horrible feeling so sick but I guess it is a good sign that your hormones are doing what they should be doing.

I am feeling queasy this morning. :cheer2: Last week I only got nauseous at lunch time. Hopefully this is a good sign  (there is likely to be a lot of use of this smiley for quite a few more weeks on this thread! ).

Peridot, Calamity and Ajedrez thank you for you lovely kind wishes. Calamity and Ajedrez I hope that we all have April babies just as cute as yours. :higgies: Peridot it is not too long now until you will be meeting your baby!

Kerry I am happy to be added to a signature. I guess it doesn't make any difference to whether things will go ok or not.

Morning Kerry

My symptoms are sore boobs. They are not painful all the time though. It seems to come in waves. I get nauseous and have a little heartburn leading up to lunch time. Finally I am very thirsty but I only found out yesterday that this is a pregnancy symptom.

I am not tired at all which is a wee bit strange.

What about you guys?

eta Hi Kerry-Ann! :cheer2:

13-08-2008, 09:58am
kerri-Anne of course you can join us. I have added you to my signature list, hope that's okay?

Claireh I think my boobs have been wrecked from last time! No change there at all. I am just pretty tired most of the time, and spent most of yesterday being a soggy hormonal crying wreck! Oh and peeing every 5 minutes. My hands are so dry from being washed all day long! No sickness yet thank goodness

I have barely any symptoms, apart from weeing more often, sensitive nipples, rather emotional and for the last few days some dizziness, which I had the previous time too. Oh and I felt sick for most of the morning yesterday.

I've always cried at the strangest stuff on TV, so that's no indicator for me!

13-08-2008, 10:17am
kerry- i love one tree hill!! i must admit that would probably get me going too right now lol

chicco- bless u i hate feeling sick, i threw up constantly with maddy from about 7 weeks til 28 weeks! about 4-5 times before 9 am everyday was so rough! hopefully this one will be more sympathetic

I woke up at 3am with horrendous heartburn and nausea. I am like this :cheer2: for having horrid symptoms!

I know this does not mean things will not go wrong but it is very different to last time.

I am just tired and hungry. I even fainted on Tuesday morning! Must keep eating. 3 and a half weetabix already this morning

 Dink!

Kerri-Ann I will have everything crossed for you today. :higgies: I have achy feelings that go around my whole torso. I have no idea whether this is normal or not but hopefully it is just our bodies stretching. The barfing is a very good sign too. Sorry you have had an emotional time as well. :higgies:

What does everyone have planned for the weekend?

We have had a few hectic weeks with lots of family staying with us to this weekend is for chilling. My sister in law stayed with us last week, my parents stayed with us over last weekend and finally my brother in law stayed with us on Wednesday and Thursday night. We have not told anyone that I am pregnant and it is really hard trying to be a nice host when you are tired, worried and stressed about overdoing things :-( I am thinking of saying to DH that we are having a ban on people staying over the next six weeks.

:higgies: Kerri Ann - have posted on your other thread.

 to Dink and Chicco

Sounds like we all have plenty of symptoms - I've been getting loads of cramping and pains, especially around my (c section) scar. Still feeling nauseous a lot of the time, although my boobs aren't quite as sore.

Had my dating scan appointment through today - 23rd September - seems like ages away! The midwife is coming to see me next week - pretty early on really, but that's how they do it now apparently.

Quiet day tomorrow - the inlaws are back from a week in sunny Llandudno (not!:teehee: ) so will go and see them and on Sunday mum and I are going to see Popinjay and my twinny nephews so I am VERY excited about that!

Sorry, this turned into a mammoth post:oops:

After a couple of days of NO symptoms, I felt really sick yesterday and actually thought I was going to be sick a couple of times. I've never been so happy to feel sick! I read back over my pregnancy diary and the same thing happened last time - little to no symptoms, so I kept worrying. The result is currently walking around our living room, so I shall try to worry less!

Chicco that is great that you are having such good strong symptoms. It is definitely reassuring.

I am still terrified it is all going to go wrong. I am not really feeling that sick. I seem to get heartburn and feel a wee bit nauseous when I am hungry. I am still getting twinges in my abdomin and my boobs are still very painful. I am just so scared.

Just popping in to say all the best of luck to all the April 2009 mummies. It was a year ago today that I was at the Oil Barons' Ball. When we got home we did the CBD and got a "pregnant".

I ended up being a May mummy as Ellie wouldn't budge.

Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months to each and every one of you.

Chicco it must be our day for limited symptoms. This afternoon I realised that my boobs were not that sore and I had not had my usual heartburn today. Cue massive paranoia. I honestly hope it has just been our day for them easing off for a day.

Have you only done one test?

I have done around 6  :teehee: Ooops.

Here are the symptoms that I have had over the last two weeks. I have not had them all together and they really are quite mild.

Sore boobs -sometimes really really heavy and very sore when I take off my bra.

Heartburn - started mid morning and lasted through lunch. I didn't really have it today though.

Achy pains in my abdomin - lots of twinges last week but not many now.

Aches in my thighs - I only really had this for a while tonight.

Ripples of nausea - not really anything too bad

Dink
19-08-2008, 05:14am
I have had very few symptoms also. :meh: My boobs do still hurt, and I think I've had the first round of nausea on Sunday.

Plus, I'm either really out of shape or just really out of breath climbing the stairs at work (all two flights :teehee:). They are tall stairs, probably 26 stairs/flight so it's really like climbing 4 flights. That is probably the best exercise I get all day .

I felt really sick yesterday, all day and it was a real sh*tty day at work I was like:zombie: when I got home and still had loads to do then. I work in a bank admin centre, full time over 4 days so it's looong days - worth it to get a day off, but I am struggling at the moment!

Spoke to the hospital about screening today - think I am the oldest April mummy at 40 - I will be having a private nuchal scan and bloods (my age related risk for Downs is 1 in 100, but the results of this will hopefully bring it down a bit)and we can then decide whether to have any further tests done.

Kerri-Ann I hope you had a lovely time out shopping and a nice lunch too.

Kerry I hope you managed a wee bit of quiet time chilling out today.

Mrs Nozza sorry to hear that you had a rubbish day today. That is good you have the ball rolling for screening. I think I get the Nuchal fold test at my hospital but I am not sure what other testing they do.

Dink and Chicco how are you doing?

I am a compliance manager for an asset management company. The days are not too long but it is hard trying to concentrate on work. I think it will be hard to concentrate on anything until I have my scan a week tomorrow.

Masses of sticky vibes to you all.

Hi
I didn't know there was an April mummies thread - that will teach me for only living in New Posts

I saw the GP a few weeks ago, he didn't give me a date but I worked it out to 8th April. I have been bleeding for about 3 and a bit weeks now and I have no symptoms whatsoever. I am seeing the MW next week so am hoping that will be a bit more reassuring.

Hello everyone, how are you all feeling this evening? I have got 4 people coming round for dinner so had better get cooking soon! Had a really nice day today, took B and my niece over to see a friend and we all went out to the park, was lovely and took my mind right off feeling so nauseous.

Got my scan date yesterday - 29th September - AGES AWAY! How will little miss instant-gratification (that'll be me according to my DH) cope with that wait? Ah well, not much I can do about it.

By the way, has anyone done those online gender prediction things? I did a couple and they both say I am having a boy this time. (They said girl last time, and I was convinced B was a boy). Is anyone here going to find out the sex? We are going to have a surprise again.

Symptom wise I have been having awful all day nausea most days now, and delightful trapped wind from time to time, but I think that's it. Oh and tiredness of course.

And my last question, who have you told so far?

claireh
22-08-2008, 09:10am
Kerry-Ann that is FAB news about your scan!

Kerry that is great you have your scan date through. It will be the 29th September before you know it :higgies: I hope your dinner went well with your friends. to you for cooking when you feel sick!

We have told one of my friends. She has been through a really difficult time through IVF and I always said that I would tell her first. I haven't told my parents yet. I think we will tell them after the scan on Tuesday regardless of the result.

I have just done the gender predictor thing and I am apparently having a girl on one website and a boy on another!

I have sore boobies! I also felt sick yesterday!

Not wanting to count any chickens but I am so relieved to have a couple of symptoms back. :cheer2:

Still sending you all lots of super glue for your little beans.

I've told my parents and my sister, dh has told his parents and siblings. I haven't told my brother but haven't spoken to him in an age.

I'd like to not find out the sex and have a surprise but I don't think I can do it in reality. DH really wants to find out the sex. We found out the sex with dd because dh wanted to know. I had originally wanted a surprise but decided it might make the pregnancy more fun for dh to know so I caved in. I never regretted knowing and it was kind of fun to know it was a little girl. So, I guess I'm just not sure. :sigh: I have loads and loads of girls' clothes and I would be able to get rid of them a few month's earlier if I knew I was having a boy.

Hi ladies

I am still feeling sick - for most of the day now and have been close to throwing up a few times:zombie: - I have gone off most food and am living on toast, fruit and yoghurt.

We've told parents and sisters/brothers. I've told a couple of close friends and my boss. I'm sure some people at work suspect though, I look so grim all the time!

The midwife came round on Wednesday, so I'm all booked in with them. I have booked my nuchal scan for 22nd September (day before the NHS dating one so I expect they will take the info from that and not do the NHS one)- have to have bloods taken a few days before so they can give me the results on the day. Quite nervous about it all.

Great news about your scan kerri-ann. Maudie, I hope the midwife is able to reassure you and that the bleeding stops soon. Claire, great to hear you have some symptoms back!

May I join you please? Due on 21st April which makes me 5 weeks today.

Scared shitless TBH as this is my 5th pregnancy and I'm yet to have a baby. I had investigation done after the last m/c at 15 weeks in april and they have found out that I have a mild form of a blood clotting disotder that means my blood is too sticky so I'm on daily asprin but don't need to have any injections yet. Off to read this thread now

Hi Squidgell! :cheer2:

Sending you masses of superglue for your little bean.

I was told by my consultant to take baby aspirin too. I have only had one mc but I have pcos which I think can make you prone to having clotting issues.

It is such a scary time isn't it? I hope that we are all here to stay. :higgies:

So do I. It is unbelievably scary - I wasn't this nervous last time, but I think I've just come to realise what a miracle it is to have a healthy pregnancy with a baby at the end. On the upside, I've been feeling increasingly sick over the last few days. Other than that, I don't feel pregnant AT ALL, but there's no mistaking it with the way I'm feeling. Good grief, I can't eat anything without feeling like I'm going to throw up soon afterwards. In between bouts of nausea, I feel incredibly hungry though, so then I eat and feel sick again. Vicious circle.

Oh and welcome Squidgell!

Sorry I forgot to welcome Maudie and Squidgell  I have added you to the signature now, hope that's okay?

Hope everyone is doing well. I have mostly been looking like this :ugh: and feeling horrendously sick throughout the day(s). Apart from Saturday when I went on a bouncy castle at a family get together!
Oh and smells are making me feel gag-tastic. The bin, fish and cold chicken are the worst offenders!

Hi Dink – hope your dressing is getting a little easier.

**Kerrie-Ann** - that’s fab news re your tv scan. Hope you are feeling better today

Hi Kerry – did you have a good evening? Your scan date will come round really quickly. Thank you for adding me to your signature.

Claireh – well the online gender prediction things are really hedging their bets for you! Good luck for tomorrow – will be thinking of you

Hi mrsnozza – will be keeping my fingers crossed for you for your nuchal and blood tests.

Hi Squidgell – welcome to April mummies, am sending sticky baby thoughts to you

Hi Chicco – hope the sickness passes for you soon

I still don’t have any symptoms and I am still bleeding, am still booked into see the MW on Wednesday and I will be bang on 8 weeks so I may ask for an early scan.

I have told my good neighbour I am pg and she was lovely, we haven’t told anyone else until we know everything is ok. We had DD via fertility treatment so when I fell pg for her everyone knew when I had the blood results through, so this is quite a nice secret to keep .

Hope everyone is getting on well Mx

Ooh Kerri-Anne, I did that with orange juice last time, and agree it was worst thing ever on the way back out afterwards. Poor you.

This morning I have felt awful. Poor DH has done everything. I couldn't drink my tea, went back to bed till 8.30 then got up and just cried. Bloody hormones. I'm on the verge of them again now, can tell it's going to be a soggy face day. I really hope this passes at 13 weeks like last time. I am not coping particularly well with this bit.

Maudie sorry to hear that you are still bleeding. I hope it is just bubs getting nice and cosy. Is it today that you are going to be seeing the midwife? If so lots of vibes coming your way. I hope that you do get your early scan.

Kerri-Ann and Kerry sorry to hear that you are both feeling so poorly. I hope the sickness eases up soon. :higgies: Kerri-A your little one sounds like an absolute sweetheart.

Symptoms wise I still don't have that much. I still have very sore boobies and I get really nauseous when I am hungry. I am going to see my GP tonight to tell them that I am pregnant. I still can't believe that things went well yesterday morning. I hope our little pip keeps on growing.

How is everyone else feeling? Chicco, Squidgell, Mrs Nozza and Dink how are you doing?

Still sending lots of superglue vibes to you all.

Hi claireh - thanks for thinking of me, I see the mw this afternoon. I would have gone to see the gp about an early scan but they can't really tell much conclusively until now and didn't want to be in and out of the EPU

I had an early scan last time (I had lots actually!) around the same time as you and DD looked like a seahorse, it was really cute.

I still have no symptoms and am bleeding, am hoping very much that baby is just getting comfy.

Hope everyone is getting on well Mx

Hi all.. i am sneaking in here - am only 6 weeks and dont really feel pg at all apart from bloated tum and sore boobs! Am hoping all is well but refuse to get too excited yet, it just hasnt really sunk in. Anyone else with next to no symptoms?? I know it is early but still.... Keep feeling really guilty too because i drank lots of wine up until my bfp

Dink
27-08-2008, 01:22pm
Congratulations Katoid! I would try to not stress about the wine- I would imagine millions of people have done the same.

I am feeling nausea at times. I've had to eat a lot (and some very high calorie food ) to keep it away.

Maudie- I hope everything is okay. Good luck with your appointment :higgies:

kerri-Ann- Yuk about the orange juice! I have actually had to drink it to fight my m/s and it's really helped. Would be awful if it came up again!

Hi Katoid - congratulations and welcome to April Mummies  I really wouldn't worry about the wine :happyno:

Hi Dink - I remember living on a diet consisting of KFC and Big Macs with DD.

PMSL Squidgell

I am back from the MW and would sum up the visit a la Squidgell in smilies but there would be a lot of rage filling the page.

Basically, I don't fit the criteria for an early scan but I can do another pregnancy test to see if I am still pregnant (what a load of tosh and I can't find the rolleyes smiley) or I can pay for a private scan. So I have just rung around the local private hospitals to try and get a scan and it is this Friday afternoon. I told her this pg doesn't feel right and she laughed at me. Still, at least Friday isn't too far away.

Hope everyone is OK Mx

Ooh, forgot to say hi to Katoid! :wave2:

I haven't got a lot of symptoms either. Trying not to read too much into it which is hard with my history but I keep reminding myself that my Mum never had any symptoms when she was pregnant with either me or my sis . And don't forget all those peeps who never realise they're pregnant until much later on. My friends SIL never knew she was pregnant until she was 25 weeks and she was having twins :faint:
Its so easy to think if these things and worry but we've got to try not to. (Remind me of this in a few weeks when I'm pulling my hair out with worry!)
I also think we probably all know more than we should because of our histories and the fact that we are in contact with a lot of damsels who have had losses () and we know what could happen. I know that my SIL who's pregnant now has been so much more worried about this one than her last pregnancy because of everything thats happened to me. I know what I'm trying to say so apologies if it doesn't come across right :meh:

Maudie thats awful  At least you've got something booked though even of you do have to pay for it :hissyfit:

I might brave it and look at getting a ticker soon. I need one to keep track of where I am!!

Hi everyone thanks for the lovely welcome :flowers:

It is funny how some people have way more symptoms early on than others and how some never get any, youre right Squidgell, a number of women dont realise they are pg till quite late on.. Still, my first pregnancy was 5 years ago and i cant remember how i felt at all (apart from sore boobs) and i swear i am way more paranoid this time around.

Maudie good luck for Friday, i hope all is OK...

Have you all been to the doc yet? Sounds stupid but what do i do? Do i call and say 'hi, i am preggers , now what do i do please?'  i have no idea!!!

28-08-2008, 11:00am
Katoid I only went to the docs yesterday. It was a bit of an anticlimax!

Basically I told her about my mc (I haven't been back there since it happened) and my pcos. She then asked me about my last cycle. That was it!

I think I just have to wait for an appointment to come through for my first midwife appointment where she said they would take bloods and my 12 week scan.

It seems a lifetime away just now!

28-08-2008, 06:19pm
Ooh hi Katoid! Congrats :ellie: Shall I add you to my sig?

Claireh glad your scan went well. I can't wait for mine!

Maudie all the best for tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

Squidgell I also loved your day in smilies, looked a lot like my week!

Can I just confess something here... all I really want to eat for breakfast is Macdonalds sausage and egg mcmuffin and hash brown :oops::oops: I did overload on fruit and granola this afternoon to try and balance things out!

I have felt much better today, I think because I kept busy as much as possible and kept grazing on snacks. A friend wanted to pop round and hang out this evening though and I had to put her off.. just not fancying company right now.

One thing that's really been annoying me, when people have heard we're expecting no.2 is, saying "let's hope it's a boy this time!". It gets right on my nerves. I've also been getting peed off with other random people coming up to B and calling her a lovely boy. Hmpf. I'm not going to start dressing her head to toe in pink; I would have thought people might hedge their bets and say "what a lovely baby" if they weren't 100% sure. Okay that's 2 things really annoying me. I'll shut up now!

Katoid
28-08-2008, 06:26pm
Ooh yes please Kerry - i hope it isnt too premature but my EDD is April 25

I called my surgery tonight and have an appointment with the doc on Tueday eve who will register me and refer me to the M/W.. oh god i have just realised i am going to have to have blood tests arent i :zombie: YUK. I am rhesus neg, will i have to have any more jabs this time or only if i have a bleed again? Crikey so much to think about. hello

I need to join in too, have been following you all for a few weeks but wanted that time to get used to the idea myself. Not quite sure when I am due because according to FF I didn't ovulate  but I think it will be around the 19th. I tend to have late babies anyway.

Symptoms have been mild up until yesterday when I really felt very ill but have been trying to graze, eat protein, drink spatone and keep busy. I also look about 18 weeks gone already  and have washed up my maternity clothes today because my normal clothes are so uncomfy.

This will be number 3 :fingerscrossed: I have a DD who is 4.5 and DS who is 2 next month. Haven't told very many other people yet but there's a few rumours going about based on my stomach- how long do you think I'll be able to use the holiday buffet excuse? :scratchchin:

Looking forward to chatting with you all more even though officially I'm now sticking my head in the sand and fingers in my ears until May.

Ooh, congratulations Silverpod!

Well, the sickness returned today and I'm actually being sick now, so ended up calling in sick for work, which I really hate doing (and it will make it even more obvious to everyone now), but I couldn't face the thought of being so ill in the office.

Squidgell, I know exactly what you mean about being more aware of what can go wrong (you worded it very eloquently).

Katoid, when I saw my GP, he asked me my LMP date, gave me a prescription for folic acid, asked me which hosp I wanted to go to (and dictated the referral letter) and gave me the community midwives' number. I was in there about 5 minutes!

I'm so knackered today. I really could do without going into work tomorrow. Its my 6th day in a row and I'm exhausted  Still, 2 days off after that then back in for a late shift and then 9 WHOLE DAYS OFF :woohoo: I've actually got something like 6 weeks off between now and Christmas.

I haven't booked in to see my gp as I'm being dealt with by the consultant but I haven't been able to book an appointment yet as he's on holiday now (how inconsiderate!) I think I'm lucky enough to be getting an early scan (which will probably be around 8 weeks by the time I get to see him) I'll probably end up with one at 10 weeks (because of my history of late-ish m/c) and then a dating scan at 13 weeks. I'm know I'm really lucky that they're so good round here at getting scans etc.

Hi claireh – how are you feeling?

Hi mrsnozza – hope you are feeling ok, I am hoping that the 22nd will come round really quickly for you

Hi squidgell – I think you are right. I hate this part as everything seems really fragile. Enjoy your time off.

Hi Dink – how are you feeling?

Hi Katoid – I just booked an appt and told the GP I had a positive pregnancy test. He then did the forms for the hospital. No, it doesn’t sounds weird that you wish for some morning sickness just to *know*

Hi Kerry – sausage and egg muffin sounds yummy, with DD I ate little and often and felt a lot better for it

Hi Silverpod - congratulations and welcome to April Mummies! I didn't ovulate either for this pg (OPKs all negative and I started using persona this cycle and didn't trust it which was why I was using OPKs too)

Thank you all your good thoughts and wishes, I tried to post last night but the site kept crashing :flowers:.

I have just got back from my scan and everything is OK . He basically said he doesn't know why I am bleeding but that is a threatened miscarriage and that I am to take things easy. The baby is measuring a lot smaller than my dates (10-14 days behind) but, we saw and heard the heartbeat and the consultant did us some lovely pictures. DH flew back early this morning and he was keeping DD entertained - she liked hearing the heartbeat.

I asked about the lack of symptoms and he thought that I just have very low levels of hormones in my system but it didn't necessarily mean anything negative.

He is also writing a letter for me to show my midwife incase I need any further help. I am seeing the mw in about 10 days to go through the paperwork so am hoping my 12 week scan date comes through shortly to clear up the date thing.

I have had run ins with this mw before but have found she is a lot better at post natal care than ante natal care.

Apologies for grammar/not making sense - I am really tired but just wanted to quickly let you know how we got on. Hope everyone has a good weekend Mx

Hi all - how are you doing today? I have a horrid cold which has sprung from nowhere! But otherwise feel fine, which is bizarre. I managed to have my wine guzzling friends over last night (who dont yet know) and matched them glass for glass with my non alcoholic wine which DH decanted in to a proper wine bottle  and i did all the top ups so noone was any the wiser! Believe me if i so much as cut down my wine they would all know and i dont want them to just yet.

Quick question - how can i get an early scan? For some reason i am so paranoid this time around and really need to know everything is OK.. I am guessing as i dont have any special circumstances they might refuse me .. :-(

claireh
01-09-2008, 12:22pm
My symptoms totally disappeared the week before last for five days. Everything went from the sore boobs to the nausea. They suddenly all returned on the fifth day. I honestly thought it was all over.

Katoid I don't know where you live but St Thomas' in London do reassurance scans on a Wednesday. You don't need to be referred but you do have to phone to make an appointment. They have a dedicated 24 hour early preganncy unit. They are happy to talk through any worries you may have.

Also, there should be some private clinics in your area that are usually happy to do a reassurance scan (for a fee of course!).

Well done on the foxing of your friends!

Last night I received a call from St Thomas' to say that they have stopped accepting patients from our area to their hospital. However, as I have a wonky brain thing they said that they may take me. I really don't fancy the hospital that is the alternative so fingers crossed that they call back tonight and say that they will have me.

How is everyone else doing?

hello,

Seems like we are all getting organisied with appointments and scans. :thumb: I have a booking in on the 12th Sept, I guess they will book the scan through that. We get a 12week dating scan (not nuchal though :-( ) and a 20 week one here though I will probably have a few extra towards the end as I have a thyroid condition. Need to have a think about things before the booking in as I am tempted to really try and push :teehee: for a homebirth this time.

I'm feeling far less bloated thank goodness so back into normal clothes for a little while longer. I was very worried last week as I did look very big. My SIL gave me back a load of maternity clotehs yesterday so I'm pretty sorted now for bottom half stuff. Doesn't seem to be a lot of wintery looking top half stuff in the shops yet though.

We haven't really told anyone still yet, and considering we just had a weekend with the in laws we managed to keep it a secret very well.

My sickness is not so bad but I am very tired, resting up now whilst DS is in bed.

I'm still scared and in denial though- anyone else?

Hello and congratulations keikobelle!

Well, went to the GP today as my nausea/sickness is just getting worse:zombie: - he has signed me off work for a fortnight and given me some tablets 'as a last resort' (in his words, I'm not going to take them unless I'm really desperate, I'm not really comfortable with it). I have to go back tomorrow though as my BP is high:-( (had this last time) and he wants to do another reading, plus I need to give him a urine sample (forgot to take one today:doh: )

He said if it gets much worse I might have to go into hosp, but as I am managing to keep fluids down it shouldn't come to that. Anyway, sorry for that long 'woe is me' moment:oops:

Claire, your symptoms sound very like mine first time round. My boobs aren't really sore anymore and I'm not really feeling that tired now.

Good news about your scan Kerry Ann!

Glad everyone is doing well!

Congratulations keikobelle!

Symptoms for me seem to be taming- my boobs have almost stopped hurting. I have occasional bouts of nausea although not as bad as I did at 6 weeks. I have occasional cramps/twinges, but also wonder sometimes if it's my clothes being too tight. My belly is really uncomfortable in most of my normal clothing (Not that that is a symptom so much) and I'm trying to avoid my maternity clothing right now as that will give everything away.

I have completely gone off two of my favorite foods :hissyfit:- avocados and chocolate! Nearly lost it (my lunch:oops:) trying to make guacamole the other day. I gave up and threw my avocado in a dish I have for my compost, then could not look at it without retching so had to take it outside (without looking at it).

Oh no Dink - how horrid going off your fav food! Well i went to the doc last night and started the ball rolling on all the pg stuff, i said i was having really bad pains (even though i am not but wanted her to send me for a scan   ) so she prodded my tummy and instead came out with 'oohh your uterus feels very large for your dates.....' i said 'and.. as in bad big or other??' she said 'oohh well it can indicate multiple pregnancy but seeing as this is your second it is probably quite normal' She then went on to tell me that i had a great suntan and said to have fun and dont forget about my husbands needs during this time :yeahright:

My doc is a sweet old bird but quite bats - anyone remember she recommend DH remove my coil 'all you need is a strong wrist and a headtorch' were her words :zombie:  so needless to say i am not being referred for an early scan, just to the MW who will call me in next week to check me over.

ROLL ON 12 WEEKS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is everyone else feeling?? xxx

Squidgell – fingers crossed you will have Christmas off! Do you have your scan date yet? Hope you don’t have to wait too long

Dink – my 12 week scan should be in about 3 weeks time, they scan you after you have had your 8 week check and then done your paperwork for booking in with the mw (around 10 weeks here). Sorry to hear you have gone off your favourite food – that sucks

Hi Katoid – hope you get an early scan, I paid for one last week and can let you know how much it cost if you wanted a comparison. Your mw and gp sound bonkers!

Claireh – did you get into St Thomas?

Silverpod – will you homebirth in water?

Kerry-ann – great news for your scan

Hi keikobelle – congratulations and welcome to April mummies

Mrsnozza – sorry to hear you have been signed off, I hope you can get lots of rest in and get your bp down

The bleeding I had subsided over the weekend to a mild discharge however, I started bleeding quite heavily today (more so than before) and am now passing clots (sorry if tmi). I am having low grade cramps too which feel like they are building up to something. I couldn’t get into see a Dr today so will try tomorrow but I imagine the best they can do is monitor me for now. My Mum is having surgery tomorrow to remove the mass and it just feels like everything is happening at once

Hope everyone is getting on well Mx

Maudie I am so sorry to hear that you are bleeding heavily. I will keep everything crossed for you and your mum over the next few days. :higgies:

Mrs Nozza sorry to hear about your blood pressure too. I hope resting up helps to bring it down.

Katoid your doctor sounds :loco: . I still hope you manage to get an early scan. about the uterus comment though!

Kerry hasn't posted for a wee bit. Hope you are doing ok hun. :higgies:

Dink it sucks going off your favourite food. Maybe you will find a new favourite food during pregnancy!

My appointment went well (i think) at St Thomas'. I have another appointment with a consultant next week to talk about the care that I will need because of my wonky brain thing. I was told today that it was a mild form of spina bifida which freaked me out a bit. Hopefully Pip will be ok though as I have been taking my folic acid every day. I have my nuchal scan booked for 3rd October. They also took some blood today and I will get the results tomorrow. :faint: I did have some sugar in my urine but I had crunchy nut cornflakes for breakkie so that may have had something to do with it  :teehee:

I haven't heard anything back from the consultant yet. I'm not really sure what to do. I think I need to phone him again and kick some butt. He was the one who told me thatneeded regular monitoring and so far I haven't seen anyone.

I've felt rough as a dogs @rse all day. Stonking headache which I just can't shift and I've the nausea has only just settled down.

Quite excited though as I'm going to the zoo tomorrow with my Mum and Sister. Haven't been for years so really looking forward to it!

Maudie I have everything crossed for you that the bleeding stops. Take care and rest up as much as you can  xxx

Oh no, what awful news from Maudie! Yes, I agree Kerri-Anne - this bit is dragging immensely. I think it's partially because I'm feeling sick all the time but also because of stories like Maudie's. All the horrible stories I have heard are fighting for space in my mind at the moment. I have my first m/w appointment on Monday morning and I really hope she'll be able to give me some sign that all is OK in there.

I'm still in normal clothes but only just. There is no way I can keep this quiet till after the 12 week mark. If all is well at the m/w next week, I will tell my colleagues then as I'm really struggling to hide it.

Sorry to all those feeling rough and excited for all those having scans soon!

Well, I've had a call from the consultants secretary today and I have a scan booked for next friday morning at 8am :faint:

Morning all - how is everyone today? I keep thinking of Maudie too, i really hope you are back in P&B soon too :higgies:
I have just dropped DD off for her first day at school :lurve: she was so gorgeous and excited - we have been up since 5.30am...
The sickness has kicked in for me - :ellie: and :zombie: at the same time... its odd though, just feel queasy constantly. Oh well, i am glad i have some more symptoms, and my tummy, crikey, it has stuck out what feels like a mile already - i think i am going to haveto fess up earlier than 12 weeks at this rate too :-(

Squidgell - great news about your scan! Hope it all goes well.

The time really is dragging now, i just want it to hurry up - this is going to be a mega long pregnancy...

Katoid I hope your little girls first day goes really well. Did you take any piccies?

I may have a ms tip. Every day for the last two weeks I have had crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast. Yesterday I had bite sized shredded wheat and I felt like this :zombie: all day. Sooooooo nauseous! This morning I had cnc again and I feel fine. It may be worth a try for you guys that are feeling uber rough.

Squidgell that is fantastic news about your scan. How many weeks will you be then?

I'll be 7+5. Hoping they won't have to do an internal scan. Just have to see how it goes. I wish this bit would hurry up and pass, feels like its going on forever.
I'm going to try and not tell anyone til I'm 20 weeks though this time. I told everyone at work last time at 13 weeks and then miscarried at 15+2. Hopefully I'll be able to manage it as I'm a pretty big girl and hopefully won't start to show properly til then. We'll just have to see

Hope you have been having a good weekend.

hello,

Think I'm now 8-9 weeks, have the midwife on Friday so starts to get serious I guess! Still not having a lot of symptoms so feel a bit uneasy until I get a scan, hoping it won't take too long to go through the system.

Had a maternity clothes audit yesterday  when I got an hours peace (also put summer stuff away). I actually have quite a bit as my SIL gave me what I had lent her back and a few extras, plus I won a good bundle on ebay a few weeks back. Would like to get a few more tops, maybe some dresses and some joggers/yoga pants (the juxtaposition of the words maternity and anything sport related always make me :teehee: ) but think I will check out the upcoming NCT sales first before buying new. I have also been thinking about getting some of these
http://images.figleaves.com/product/220x308/r468936-p476595-front.jpg
as they have good reviews and might make me into that svelte kind of pregnant person I have tried at and failed twice

Feeling a bit bloated too but don't really look any different as I'm a big girl anyway.

Claireh I may have to join you in paranoia central. Its so hard to be positive isn't it.

I'm so far remembering to take my asprin and vits every day so  for me!!

Hello, sorry not been posting for a while. I've really not been doing so good with the morning sickness which lasts pretty much all day. The best relief I have found for it is... Diet Coke. Maybe the caffeine is the thing? Anyway, I really need to start eating more, and more often. Despite that, I am already in my maternity jeans (9 weeks!), partly out of comfort and also because I have a definite popped out belly already. Oh and the lethargy .... the housework has definitely taken a hit!

Well done kerri-Anne on your scan, and good luck for yours Squidgell.

Hello all, still feeling very sick here, I'm also bloated (although have actually lost weight according to the scales!) - the good news is that my BP was down when the doc checked it again on Thursday. Got another check this week, fingers crossed it's OK again. I swear I feel my BP rising the minute I enter a surgery/hospital though, talk about white coat syndrome:lol:

I am 10 weeks now, got my bloods tomorrow (so they can combine the results when I have my nuchal in 2 weeks). I am getting nervous about my scan now, I've no particular reason to be, I'm just a worrier.

Abby starts pre-school tomorrow, she had her hair cut yesterday and she was so cute tonight trying out her new rucksack for size:grin:

Just been to see the midwife for my booking in appointment. She didn't try to listen to the heartbeat because she said it's sometimes difficult to find so early on and they have made it a policy to only listen to the heart from 14 weeks to prevent distress if they can't find it. Makes sense to me. I phoned for a scan appointment and they first said the 28th of September or something ridiculously far away like that. When I begged a bit, they got me an appointment for Thursday!

Awww Chicco that is fabulous news

I am having a major paranoia attack today. I think it is mainly due to my next scan being on Tuesday and I am starting to panic. I mc last time when I was around 9.5 weeks so I feel like I am in the danger zone just now (oooh when I typed that it reminded me of Top Gun :loco: :teehee: ) If I did another pg test would that mean for sure that I was still pg? I still have sore boobs, I am weeing for Britain and I am knackered but I am not getting any abdominal twinges. Is this normal?

squidgell
11-09-2008, 05:42pm
Fabby news Dink and Chicco

Claireh I have no idea  but I know what you mean aboout feeling in the danger zone. I have only had nausea, I've only vomited once and my boobs haven't been sore at all (which they were every other time). I don't like to keep going on about it either but i don't feel like I'll be able to relax until about 20 weeks or even later as I managed to get into the safe zone last time and then mc'd at 15 weeks (which I know is fairly uncommon anyway). I just feel like I've been robbed of being able to enjoy my pregnancy :sigh:

We've just got to remember that EVERY pregnancy is different and try and remain positive until told otherwise/ Easier said than done though I know.

Dink
12-09-2008, 03:23am
Claireh- Please step away from the pregnancy tests!! Anything you see on them will likely be inconclusive and may just stress you out for no need. :higgies: They are only supposed to work earlier in pregnancy and at some point (not sure when) the hcg hormone or whatever fades so even a very good pregnancy will register negative.

I think your symptoms sound very promising. With my first pregnancy my abdominal twinges stopped quite early on. Sore boobs and being tired sound very good.

Great news about the scans Dink, Chicco and Squidgell!

My sickness is easing off a little bit now, BP is down too, although as my GP puts it 'it's not ideal but it's OK'.

Had my blood test on Monday ready for my nuchal scan (10 days to go:smile: ), got a huge bruise on my arm now and still got two more lots of bloods to go (one for booking in at the hosp and one to investigate why my BP is high) - I'm going to be a battered wreck by the time they've finished:lol:

My appetite is really rubbish atm and I'm losing about 2lbs a week - but I am not too concerned as I am very overweight anyway and exactly the same thing happened to me last time - just a shame I couldn't keep it off afterwards:doh:

Abby loves pre-school and I had lots of positive feedback from her teacher when I picked her up this afternoon:lurve: . Planning a quiet weekend, how about everyone else?

Mrs N glad the sickness is abating a little, and that DD had a great start to pre-school.

Hi  to everyone else. Hope you're all doing well.

Had a bit of a scare last night as I had a bit of spotting. Strangely I had the same (although so far it seems less) with DS at this very point, 9 weeks. It happened just before I went to bed and it then took me ages to get to sleep even though I was shattered but hopefully :fingerscrossed: it has stopped. I know I majorly overdid it yesterday, it was one of those days where it couldn't be helped but it's given me a good warning anyway to ease up. I'm taking it easy today and resting up, thankfully DH is around and being a star.

Also gave in and got some maternity jeans on today, so much more commfier though it's annoying when you don't have a proper bump and they keep sliding down, not sure what's worse, too tight or too loose!

Hello, may I join your club? LOL :D Been meaning to post on here for weeks, but with feeling dead sick all day long, it seems all I can do is just about cope with life - esp with 2 young toddlers to look after!

Anyway, I'm meant to be an April 09 mummy too! Due on the 7th of April - so I'm about 10 weeks and 4 days. Had my booking appts with both GP and community midwives and now have my 12 week scan on the 23rd, so that is very exciting! :) Still isn't public news yet, though one Damsel who is a friend of mine knows already! :) But if anyone else spots me on here, shhh for now until after I've had my scan! lol

Anyone else finding it hard to eat any hot meals? I'm just coping on bowls of cereal at the moment - eating 3 a day! Though I am managing a cold sandwich at lunchtime, along with corn tortilla chips - they seem very calming to my tummy, tho afraid I'll get even more huge if I keep eating them at the rate I am!

Hello Rachel! great to have another April mummy join :)

Most of us have been battling the sickies so you're not alone :higgies:

Yup i can't stomach a hot meal, makes me feel all woozy afterwards. lots of bowls of cereal and bits of toast are keeping me going :thumb:

Welcome again and wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy

Hi Rachel! I can't stop eating- hot and cold. I have to constantly have a full stomach to feel normal.

silverpod- I hope everything is okay. :fingerscrossed: Has there been any more spotting? I tried to wear some maternity jeans yesterday- same problem. Kept sliding down. :teehee: I'm not sure which is better- jeans unbuttoned/partially zipped or sliding down maternity wear.

MrsN- hope the blood pressure stays put!

Hi Rachel! :wave2:

Hope everything is ok with you silverpod

I don't seem to have a preference to either hot or cold foods, just struggling to find something which I actually want to eat.

Feeling a bit naff today. Went to work as normal this morning and couldn't get through a single call without coughing so my line manager sent me up to the out of hours gp (I work on the same site as the surgery) and it turns out I have a chest infection. So I got sent home and won't be working tomorrow either. I'm on antibiotics and hopefully it won't take long to clear up. :flu:

Hope everyones ok xxx

Well it's been an eventful day. After last night, I had no more spotting this morning but after lunch I then had some red watery bleeding. So I ended up going to the out of hours doctor and then the EPU but I was too late for a scan as they only did them in the morning. We eventually got seen by the doctor who examined my cervix and said it was closed which is a good sign, as is the fact I haven't passed any clots, they also they ruled out a water infection. They have booked me in for a scan on Tuesday. The bleeding eased off a little this afternoon but there is a little more tonight, so I'm on the waiting game now. So feeling quite worried even though I know there's nothing more I can do but hope.

Sorry it's such a down post, hope everyone else is well.

Hello, thanks for the hugs everyone.

I am still bleeding, had about the same amount on Sunday as I did on Saturday and it's still happening this morning. :-( There are positives as in I haven't passed any clots but I have had some pain and cramps and everytime I think it's stopping that doesn't last for long. I did think about going to the EPU this morning but I haven't got the energy to fight to be seen and maybe I'm scared of what it might show. Just trying to rest up as much as I can and doing a few things here and there as gently as I can to keep my brain from going mad.

Sorry that it's such a downer, I know it's hard to read in case it frightens you. I hope everyone else is well

I have nothing which in any way resembles a bump but I do seem to have expanded. All my clothes (bottoms) are very uncomfortable. I don't know whether I'm supposed to be contacting the midwives myself or if all my care is being dealt with by the consultant. We have booking in with the midwives at 10 weeks here and my next scan will be 9+5 by my dates so leaving it a bit short to ask him then but will do anyway

Hello everyone - great news about your scan Claire!

keikobelle, where I am they do your bloods when you go for your first scan at the hospital, but it varies from area to area - you will have some taken around 12 weeks though.

I am 12 weeks today:grin: - my sickness is definitely easing off, still getting bouts of nausea, but it's not constant anymore. Back at work as well, which has been OK.

Got my nuchal scan on Monday afternoon and then booking in at the hospital on Tuesday. Am excited and nervous at the same time!

Hi everyone, not been in here for a week or so. I'm feeling much better now with regards to the nausea. It eased off last weekend and I've only had a few short moments of nausea since. I've now told my boss and colleagues and most of our friends know too. Just can't hide it anymore! I've got quite a bump already and have been in maternity wear for the last week or so. Maternity jeans are still annoyingly big, but certainly a lot more comfy than normal jeans!

After feeling energetic until now, the tiredness hit me a couple of days ago. I just couldn't keep my eyes open beyond 9 pm. Mind you, I'm still breastfeeding my son, so my body has to grow a baby AND produce milk, so it's not so surprising really. Have had a few cravings too, the latest one being ginger ale. Can't drink enough of the stuff!

All this eating combined with sleeps is not looking good for my waistline which is feeling a bit restricted in anything other than pj's

Hello Squidgell! I think I am going to be in my mat trousers v. soon or at least a size up. My waist band is diggin in all the time! How are you feeling? How long until your next scan?

Happy Birthday for yesterday Keikobelle! I hope you had a fantastic day! To answer your blood test question I got a full set of bloods taken at my booking in appointment.

Mrs Nozza congratulations on being 12 weeks! That is fab news! You are in your second tirmester now. :faint: Good luck for your scan this afternoon. I hope you get a really good piccie!

Katoid, good idea about posting pics of bumps. Unfortunately mine just looks like flab just now. Nothing to see! I would love to see some bumps though.

I had no symptoms all weekend but now they are back with a vengence! Soooo strange. I bought a doppler last week which I have so far only used once. I was astounded that I found a heartbeat. It was a lovely 140bpm! :lurve: I am not convinced that they are super super safe so I will be limiting my use of it to once a week max.

Does anyone have any inkling about the flavour of their bump? I am thinking girl.

How is everyone else doing?

I only put them on because my jeans were fresh out the wash this morning and so uncomfortable I didn't think I'd be able to sit for 8 hours in front of a computer in them. I've given up with all my work type trousers ages ago but theres definately no sign of bumpage!

Next scan on Friday and feeling remarkably calm in comparison to the last one although I'm sure if you ask me again on Thursday I may answer differently! At least DH can come to this one

At my scan last week I was between 9-10 (bubs was measuring 2.7cm and I think 2.4 is the right size for 9 weeks). Soooo I guess I am between 10 and 11 now. :brainache: What about you? Are you heading towards nine now?

Good evening ladies!

Had my nuchal scan today and it was fantastic (even though I had got myself into a right state beforehand!). It took 30-35 minutes to do as they had to get lots of different measurements, so DH and I got a really good look at baby:grin: . My fibroids were in the way a bit:rolleyes: so some of it had to be done vaginally (but I have to say the view was much clearer that way  )

Taking into account the bloods, nuchal fold measurement etc my Downs risk has gone from 1:109 (age related) to 1:3614 so I am very happy! Baby's size is spot on for my dates so EDD is still April 4th. He/she was waving his/her arms around a lot, soo cute!

Got lots of piccies, she even turned on the 4D thing for a bit (although I thought everything looked a bit scary:oops: ) and I've also got a DVD of the whole thing.

Got my hospital booking in tomorrow - don't think they will do another scan as this one was so thorough, so it will just be bloods, BP, notes etc.

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up soon.

Hi all. Congrats to those who have had positive scan experiences! Any pics to show us?

I have mine on Monday and am a bit apprehensive about it. To be lucky enough to conceive twice and have no problems both times almost seems like too much good fortune when I think what some people have been through, but I am trying to be positive.

I will be 12 weeks along on Thursday, and thank goodness the horrendous all day long nausea seems to be passing now, although I still have bursts of extreme hunger every now and then. It is getting boring thinking about food (both mine and DD's) all day long!

I am another one who is in maternity jeans already, this is just because they are comfy and keep me warm more than a real bump though. I have actually lost about half a stone due to the nausea - sure that'll be back on in no time though!

I am feeling sick again today as well :zombie:

I had my booking in at the hospital which took about 3 hours, they were so busy and I had to see the midwife, the phlebotomist (sp - the blood lady!), a consultant, blah blah blah. They are not happy about my BP:no: so I've gone on tablets (I knew it was coming TBH) but the consultant is supportive of me having another section (haven't decided completely on that).

Got 20 weeks scan booked for Nov 18th and I also get a 34 week growth scan 'cos of my BP.

I can't post any scan piccies - haven't got a scanner and the CD drive on this laptop is kaput so I can't even try and get a still from the DVD:doh:

Anyway, had my 12 week dating scan today and...found out I'm actually 13 weeks! I am quite sure of my dates, so was surprised to have them move my due date from the 7th of April to the 1st. Could it just be that I've got a big baby, or the ultrasound isn't quite accurate? Just wondering how I could be a week further along, when I'm sure of dates. Anyway, exciting all the same. And the baby was soooo active - never had either of my two previous ones move around so much early on. Is anyone going to do a wee bump pic? I don't have anything to post yet. I think I am going to take a photo per week from 12 weeks to track my growth. I am going to try to wear the same outfit for all the pics.

Morning all! How is everyone doing today.

My M/W appt went really well, thanks Claire  She arrived at my house at 9am and went through all the ins and outs of my health and history (which are thankfully all v straightfoward  ) and completed the paperwork - she has left me with a ton of bumpf to read and also extracted 3 tubes (vials?!) of my blood, and tested my wee which was fine on first inspection. Lasted about 1.5hrs and she was really nice, also has said i should be totally fine for a home birth, so fingers crossed i stay that way :cheer2: My scan date should be through in the next few days and I should be bang on 12 weeks when i have it. Feel a lot more reassured now that i have had this appt but wont be fully at ease until i see that baby on the screen in 2 or so weeks time...

Claire poor you just hitting the sickies YUK! It is foul. I am shattered constantly and the thought of walking up stairs is an effort. I usually eat pretty healthily too but all i want to eat at the moment is jacket potatoes/ cheese sarnies or soup

Think i will do a bump pic shortly - although i am never sure how to post my pics in to my posts!

How is everyone else doing? Any more scans coming up soon??

Claireh- I normally make good dietary choices but it is such a push to eat my veg right now! The thought of anything green is not appealing!

Squdgell and Katoid- good luck with your scans! Great news about your m/w appointment Katoid.

DH and I have already started disagreeing about coverting our office to a baby's room. He suggested that we keep our pc and desk in with the baby!! His idea is that baby's don't need any space . He also suggested that we make the baby sleep in our dd's room (she is going to be 4!). We live in a bungalow so dd is in an out of her room all day and keeps all her toys in there- it helps keep them out of the rest of the house. That won't really work with a young baby. His other suggestion is to move but I really don't want to do that for a couple of years.

He will come round to my way of thinking- always does with things like this.

Sorry- no one probably wanted to read about that but it is so  and  at the same time! :teehee:

claireh: afraid it was around 10 weeks that my sickness peaked and I felt lots worse. Also been many weeks staying as far away from any veggies as possible. However, on the bright side, yesterday (the day I'm meant to be 13 weeks!) the sickness just about vanished!!!! :cheer2: If I hadn't had a scan the day before and seen a healthy and active baby I'd have probably been worried sick that something was wrong since I felt normal again. But I think it's just the magical 13 week point for me. I ate a hot meal both last night and tonight - *veggies* too! :) And was just fine. So I'm very excited to be feeling nearly a normal person again - it's wonderful!

Katoid: yay that you're planning a home birth - they're fab! :) Have you had one before? my last baby was born at home (the first one was meant to but didn't work out). This time round the midwives seemed even extra positive about it, so I'm pleased. The midwife for my booking appointment actually put me down for a home birth (already this early), whereas I'm sure before they waited a bit further down the line before they felt like discussing it! lol And at the hospital yesterday after the scan, the midwife there has already arranged my scan at 36 weeks to check the position of the placenta etc - seems odd to have an appointment *already* for the 4th of March 09 - seems years away!

Hope everyone is doing OK and that those with sickness start feeling better soon. :higgies:

Squidgell - how was your scan?? Was thinking of you this am :higgies:

RachelIS - I didnt have a home birth last time (didnt even consider it as it was my first and didnt think it possible!) but last time i had such a straightforward time that i really want to do it at home this time. The MW has put me down for it already although she has said that i can change my mind at anytime if this pregnancy changes at all.. She was really postive about it and i just think it would be so good for us all - especially if it happens in the night - i would love DD to wake up in the am and baby to have arrived safe and sound :lurve: How was yours last time? Was it scary at all?

Hope the sickness is starting to leave everyone - mine is not so bad in the am but SHOCKING at night

I doubt anyone is about but i dont know where else to post.

In need of a massive hug :-(

MrK went out for a 'few' pint this afternoon and has just come back and been really abusive to me, telling me to f off when i was trying to explain why i'd rang him to find out where he was, he said im paranoid and told me to sleep in the other room

He's been sick everywhere, if want to use the loo im going to have to clean it, there's no way im sitting on that  So tempted to leave it for him to clean in the morning but i neeeed a wee!

He's such a nobber sometimes.

On top of all that i feel sick, i've got pains on the left side of my tummy and im worried, wtf do i do... infact im going to be sick now... brb

Nice... i feel shit, im so annoyed with him, i can hear him snoring... i want to smother him with his pillow

Sorry for the rant, its just not what i need on top of how im feeling.

Kerry good luck for you scan today. I hope everything goes fabulously well and that you get some fabulous pictures of your baby. :higgies:

Kerri-Ann I saw your thread about asking for a cs section. I am sure with what you went through before you will have a very strong case. I hope you are feeling better now after your low blood pressure.

I am recovering after a VERY tiring weekend with the outlaws. It was flippen exhausting! I get on really well with them but it was still full-on. My DH is STILL working away during the week and I am really hormonal and missing him just now. I really have to buck up a bit. Tonight I have to go away for work for two nights. Booooo. My nuchal scan is on Friday and I am already cacking myself about it.

How is everyone else?

Hi all

Kerry - hope your scan goes well today :thumb: look forward to hearing all about it.

Keikobelle - hugs to you :higgies: hope your OH was full of apologies for you. Men can be so selfish :bwahaha:

Claireh - sorry your weekend was so exhausting, entertaining is something i just cant bear the thought of at the moment so  to you. Sorry you are having a hard time with your DH away - is he back for your scan? I hope it all goes really well on Friday.

Great pics Kerry - ann, i will post some later

:higgies: keikobelle - hope your OH apologised when he'd sobered up.

Lots of scans coming up, looking forward to hearing all about them:smile:

Claire, your weekend sounds exhausting, I am struggling with tiredness now, especially between 5 and 7pm (which is when I have loads to do!). My sickness has pretty much gone though.

Got to have a glucos tolerance test on Friday as my booking in bloods showed slightly raised blood sugar. Am hoping it's just one of those things as I was borderline gest diabetes last time and had to test my blood 4 times a day etc.

BP is going down and all my other tests came back fine:thumb: . I would just like to get through a week without a GP or hospital appointment:lol: .

Bought a few maternity bits from Next on Friday.

Hope everyone is OK.

Hi all, had my scan this morning and pleased to report it all went well. Feel very lucky indeed. April 10th is the date the medical profession are sticking with (not April 9th as per babycentre!) I am 12 +4 and was right size for dates etc. Heard heartbeat too which was fab! I need to ring the community midwives to see if they'll take me on for domino care, so fingers crossed for that.
Also pleased to report the dreadful day and night sickness / nausea seems to have passed. Hurrah!
I really feel for those of you who are working at jobs where you can't sit down on the sofa and hold your head in your hands at 4.30 in the afternoon. This time in my first pregnancy I was 5 weeks into a new job and it was probably the worst first impression I ever made! I know being a SAHM isn't always the most relaxing way to spend a day but at least your LO tends to be more sympathetic than a boss!

Sorry I've been a bit on the quiet side

For those that didn't see my other thread my scan on Friday went well, all looked ok. Got booking in with the midwives next thursday and another scan on Friday. The MW is sending me a letter with the date of my nuchal fold scan so should get that in the next few days

Kerry sooooooooooooo pleased to hear that your scan went well!

Sooo who is next for a scan?

Dink are you on Thursday?

Squiddy yah for your Nuchal scan date coming soon!!

Kerri-Ann I am loving your bump pic! I really do think that I just look bloated.

Mrs Nozza I hope you get a good result from your GTT.

I had my first hormonal emotional meltdown last night. I am working away for work and last night their was a walruss in the hotel room next to mine that snored like nothing I have ever heard before. I ended up having a hissy fit and asked to move rooms. I was fighting back tears the whole way to the new room (wtf?) and then when I actually got into the new room I had sobbing tears for about half an hour!!!! That is sooooooooooo not like me and really a bit of snoring should not do that to someone! Anyone else had any over the top meltdowns?

Claire- my dh has been known to snore and I am amazed at the distress it can cause me, even when I don't have pregnancy as an excuse.

Hello all!

Been for my 1st appointment with the midwife this morning, she gave me my notes pack, asked me some questions about family illness etc - but said we'd discuss that more at next appointment. Also asked where i'd like to have baby and filled in a form to request a scan date, that was it really.

Made an appointment for next time, 13th Oct where i'll have bloods taken etc. Oh and she also put me at 11+1, so im a week further on than i though.

How long does it take for a scan appointment to come through? im so impatient!!

Still got the sicks, generally feeling yuk. Im off for a sleep!

Dink how did your scan go?

Kerri Ann I hear you regarding the cleaner thing. I do actually have a cleaner and I love her. Sadly she called to cancel coming today as she has just got into Uni. I am soooooooo pleased for her but gutted I have to clean the flat myself this weekend. We had guests and the weekend I just sooooo can't be assed!

Is anyone suffering from major spots? My chest and shoulders are covered... :yuck:

Nuchal scan tomorrow...... :meditate: :happyno:

:hi: My scan went really well! Thanks for asking, ladies. My baby wiggles a lot, sucks his/her thumb, and would not cooperate and move into position very easily. I found out my placenta is towards the front which will be nice to know when I do not feel early movements.

Sadly, I am do not have the scanner connected so doubt I will be posting pictures. They are really not very clear so you can just use your imaginations.

Good luck with your scan Claire! Squidgell and kerri-Ann are next, I think?

The scan today put me ahead 4 more days but I'm pretty sure that was excessive! My last scan put me another 4 days ahead of what my ticker says at the moment. So there is an 8 day difference (earlier due-date) between the 12 week scan and my best estimate.

claireh
03-10-2008, 02:30pm
Dink that is fab that everything went well!!! That is quite a difference with the dates Dink.

I am happy to report that my scan went well too. I am sooooooo relieved. Dink my placenta is also at the front and our baby did not co-operate either. I had to go for a walk and shoogle my bum up and down on the bed to get the baby to change position!

Kerry, my due date has changed by one day. Would you mind changing me to the 16th please?

I dont even have my scan date through yet so i might be the last :-( Wish i knew everything was going ok!

Having booking and bloods on the 13th.

I have a dilemma, the parents are coming tomorrow, and my mum will be stopping for a few days. Ideally i didnt want to tell anyone until my scan but i cant be arsed to hide my notes, the calendar and other give away bits lying around the house, plus the added joy of morning sickness.. she's going to notice.

Have you told your parents yets? Or am i panicing for no reason :loco:

MummyPig
05-10-2008, 02:35pm
Keikobelle, I told my parents the day I found out (5 weeks!) - didn't want to keep quiet and couldn't really see the point. If the worst were to happen I would want the people around me to be able to support me so I told them all. Why are you panicking?

Hope you can think positively until your scan. :higgies:

I dont know really, im a bit scared to tell them anyway as it was totally unplanned and we weren't sure what we were going to do at first, also OH and i have been rowing something rotten recently and i very nearly ended up back home last week :ohno:

I know they'd be thrilled but im still a bit nervous.
