The flatpack man is here to assemble my bookcase. When I told him how I wanted it - he said they weren't designed to go together like that. Oh, yes they are, says I, here's a picture.

Madam, that is one 202 unit with doors on the bottom NOT two 106 units stacked one on top of each other.

OH SHITE!!!

So, one of them that has been opened has to go back (and they deduct 33% off for opened items) AND I have to pay a redelivery charge to unflatpack.com AND it won't be done until early next week when I was in fact hoping to surprise DH tonight . I've found a wee spot in the study for the one that he had assembled   sure it will come in handy but it's not what I'd planned....

HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO FECKING THICK!!!!!???????

Minky

That is painful but no way thick! Sometimes these things are very obscurely described. From a person waiting for a bed to arrive, well I hope it is a bed delivery.

Believe me, we've all done this. We once bought a side-by-side refrigerator and although it fit in the space, you couldn't get the stinking door open because it was against a wall. Luckily they took it back no problems (yay Home Depot!)

Don't worry Minky we've all done it at some point or another.

This morning I asked our decorators to paint freshly plastered walls in topcoat paint. 'No Madam, an undercoat is required'

How foolish did I feel!

Oh no, that really sounds like the kind of thing I do, it really does. It's by no means thick, just a mistake. I hope it's all fab when it's sorted and looks lovely.

No, Minky. You're not an ffing idiot - just human! We've all been there. But gawd how frustrating!
