Days of the week [Archive]

We're trying to teach Amelia the correct order of the days of the week, so yesterday we went though them all and she started to ask questions like when is it Tuesday so we said tomorrow as it follows Monday etc.

So today we ask her if she knew what day it is and she said Monday so we said no its Tuesday as yesterday was Monday and tomorrow it will be Wednesday. So she turned round with a confused look and said

'No - yesterday you said today was Monday and tomorrow Tuesday so today its Monday not Tuesday.'

Don't think shes quite got the fact that today was tomorrow and will be yesterday tomorrow.

OMG you got me confused there!!

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday too...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days...
Each day different and every day new...

DS is almost five and still gets confused with the days.

Alfie is 4 nearly & only the past 4 weeks has started to understand about the days off the week

He can say them all but not in order although knows weds. thurs & Fri as on those days he always is doing something

Claire has only recently 'got it' too. It must be quite a hard concept for them to get their head round.

What Pops said - and Ruby's 5 in October. She knows the sequence, i.e. mon, tues, weds, thurs to the end but then when she gets to sunday she's a bit :puzzled: at which day to start with again!
