Recommend me some labels for clothes etc! [Archive]

I've just read that all H's school uniform and everything else she takes to school will have to be labelled. Have not had to do that for any nurseries so far, so it's a new area for me.

Can you ladies recommend a good place to get them? Also, what kind are best? I so hope I won't need to sew anything on as I'm rubbish with a needle :nod:

I bough some off ebay and they were iron on and have been fine.

I need to do this too. Noo noo, iron on ones sound fab! (if I had an iron)

These are good. Having the little icon is great for young children, it helps them find their stuff if they can't read. Also handy if more than one child with same name.
I also cheated once they got older and just used surname and picture so I could pass sweatshirts down to my other children, without relabelling.

My mum had a bunch made when we started school and they read:

AB Surname CD

where AB are my initials and CD are my brother's initials. She had enough to last till we left school if I remember right and she turned over the superfluous bit depending on whose clothes they were.

I think there were one or two other children with our surname at the school so just the surname wouldn't have been that helpful.
