I get this too, but not all the time, only occasionally.
I think the only thing to do is to ignore it and respond when he calls you mummy. Then maybe you can explain to him that you answered him because he addressed you correctly.

E and J do this very occasionally and find it hilarious.
I think the only thing you can do is totally ignore him until he calls you mum/mummy - don't respond at all, not even to tell him that you're ignoring him, iyswim. Just make out you can't even hear him until he calls you properly.

I get it sometimes too. It's not often, but if it was I think it would irritate me too!
Count yourself lucky - DH gets called 'Daddy Barry', but he's not called Barry :puzzled:

I prefer it. My LO always calls me by my name because that's what I started off with. I'm too young to be a mummy!

My dd calls me both and in all truth I respond to both. I can't see the problem. I am her mummy and my name is Nicky. Saying that it is very occasionally and usually when she wants to get my attention and muuuuuummmmmeeeeeeeeeee is not working.

I get it all the time too, but I think its just because all the mindees use my name
I just say 'its mummy to you' and let it go.
I am always called Bop rather than Mummy and although its a different situation for us, I don't quite understand why its so important?
I suspect he knows it annoys you and hence he is persisting - I would just leave it, respond positively (that's nice) if he does use mummy but make no further comments or actions. It will soon get boring.

Logan always calls Daddy Gordon. Especially when he's telling him off :teehee:
Mine crack me up when they do this. If Im looking for DH they'll address us by name "Simon, Caz is looking for you" or if I am delayed in answering them Ill get
"Mummy, Mummy, Mummeeeee, Mummeeeeeee CAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

Does your OH call you Mummy within Alfie's hearing? He's probably just repeating the name that everyone else uses for you. It may at first seem really naff but get Dean to call you Mummy and Alfie should soon catch on.
We've had to start doing this because Em was using Mr E's name as a summoning word..because I stand at the top of the stairs shouting "Maaaaaaaaaark" like a fishwife until he responds, she thought that was the best way to get his attention  .

Teddy calls DH Paul sometimes, particularly when yelling down the staircase   I am also trying really hard to only call him daddy in T's hearing as my theory is that will transfer over, as Elektra said.

. We had to do this with my nephew. If he is in ear shot, everthing is Mummy/Daddy/ Auntie Tinkle. Never by our 1st names.

Now I would HATE HATE HATE OH to cal me Mummy- the mere idea makes me cringe.
Nathan uses both our names and Mummy and Gaggy ( he cant say Daddy) LOL. No big deal
DD1 used to call me Sam all the time- probably as its was what everyone else called me and what I responded to. My ears are tuned in to hear someone calling me by name- dont need them tuned in for the "Muuuum" word else I wouild be looking round everytimer someone elses kid said it at the supermarket
