Just wondered as I seem to be acruing a collection
She has:-
A basic purple potty we've had all along with an elephant picture on it.
A basic blue potty with a fish picture on it (bought recently to keep in the car)
A new pink tortoise shaped potty with a lid that turns into a step (bought at a car boot sale for 75p unused  ) that's the same as her cousin has got
We also have a toddler toilet seat, although she seems to have gone off using the toilet since she started training at nursery too (they use potties only at that age).
Is this a bit OTT or am I just being sensible having potties in convenient places (downstairs loo, upstairs loo/her bedroom & the car).

One book I have reccommends that if you have more than one potty that they be identical, to avoid the delay when little miss madam tries to choose WHICH ONE, WHICH ONE, all the while the wee is trickling down her leg.
(personal exeperience on that one).

We haven't had too much of a problem with that, but I can see how it might happen. When we bought the blue one for the car she always wanted to use that one, so thats the one that came in the house & the old one went out into the car.
My only ??? about that statement, though, is that Elena is at the age where she likes to choose & so allowing her to choose a potty would make her more enthusiastic about using one. At the moment I'm just trying to anticpate which is her favourite at the moment. Luckily she loves peeing outdoors so much that she doesn't mind which potty we have in the car so I just have to make sure the right one is in the house.

Not that dd still shows any symptoms of training yet but we have a collection too.
We have 2 potty chairs, one up and one down. We also have a cheapo smaller potty which will probably go in the car and a pottette thingy which I will keep in the pram. I only got the pottette thingy for the pram because space on the pram will be an issue when the new LO arrives- I am not planning to get a double. All except the pottette were hand me downs (in fact one potty used to be mine! )
We also have 2 trainer seats (£1 for both new from the NCT sales :ellie: ) and 3 step up stools one for each loo and one for her bed because she likes it there

We have one seat insert (fab one with farm animals on it) which unfortunately is a bit loose in our toilet.
And one potty (chair style in white with yellow ducks).
When we are out and about DD will just use any toilet as long as I hold her.

1 potty, 1 potette for out and about, 1 seat insert.
I can't be doing with running upstairs so we use the potty downstairs and the seat upstairs. I just wish he'd time his poos to be upstairs so that I don't have to clean out the minging potty - makes me feel quite ill - it's much worse than the cloth nappies!
I'm glad that he seems to use anything while we are out as it makes it much easier - we've only had to use the potette once!
