DH loves it and wants to buy it. I think we can get it for £850 but it still seems like a huge sum of money to me. It's solid beech though. Should we get it?

I like that pancs. It is a traditional design but with a lovely modern look. :thumb: Classic and will look good in years to come.
£850 is a good price for a big unit.

I'm not overly keen tbh but i do think its a very good price for a solid wood unit like that
I really like it - think that is what solid furniture costs. We have a few solid wood bits and i still love them

I'm not a fan to be honest. I think it will date quickly.

I think it is lovely.
Can't comment on price 'cos don't know prices of these things.
I disagree that it will date quickly...I think it looks kind of classic.

I think for that money I'd go for an antique dresser, have you any auction houses near you? older furniture always looks good in any type of house IMO.
We've got a new house with lots of new furniture but my favourite item is an antique pine bookshelf

I'm not worried about it dating. It's Arts and Crafts, so is the right period for our house.
We went out today and looked round various antique places, but couldn't find anything (well, I did but it was £2400 :faint:).
Dh really wants it though. I'd rather look round a bit more, but he has his heart set on it. At least the man in the shop said that it wasn't going anywhere and he'd hold that price for about 5 weeks or so.

I love it
The price looks great to me. I like the look of the dresser a lot, but my only reservation would be what I would use the top bit for - do you have some nices pieces to display? I don't and we're looking for dressers atm too, so my requiements have been for cupboards on the top half.
I think it is really lovely though and a total bargain for solid wood. This is what we would like for our house- http://www.thefurnitureemporium.com/product.php/101/106/
I think the slightly modern twist on the one you posted is great - where will you get it from?

We've ordered it :scared:. It comes from a shop in Blackpool, and we have to go and get it. But we got it for £675 in the end, down from an initial price of £995. BIL has a van we can borrow, so it will cost petrol money on top. We get it in June.
Now, off to buy more nice china...

Bargain!! I'd like your haggling skills please
I like it. Very classic, won't date at all imho and once you have your bits and bobs on it, :lurve:.
Not expensive IMHO.
If you're unsure, check Laura Ashley, New Heights and M and S for some high st alternatives.
