Great, another hotpoint electrical device has gone tits up in this house. We had foolishly bought all matching appliances over the past 6yrs and have had to systematically replace them over the past 15mths. It wouldn't be so bad but they are all the big things and the latest to stop working is the cooker (the hob and top over/grill is till working but the bottom fan assisted oven is still fanning but no heat:hissyfit: .)

Since January we have had to buy a new fridge freezer, call the hotpoint engineer out for the 15mth old washer dryer that packed up - (£90 charge for turning up, the whole circuit board had gone) and then the dryer element of the washer dryer packed up 2weeks after DS was born, exactly a month after it was repaired and they won't even drop the fecking call out charge to come and fix it  - DH has said he will never give another penny to Hotpoint so I'm going to be forever without a tumble dryer (I only used it when the weather was bad anyway.)

So any recommendations for 60cm electric cookers (we don't have gas here) preferably with a ceramic hob.

TIA - mental note NEVER EVER BUY HOTPOINT AGAIN!!!

I bought a Hotpoint dishwasher once and lived to regret it, it was dead on arrival!

I have a Rangemaster (its a 110 dual fuel although haven't used it yet) but having had one in the past I would recommend them.

Same here, we bought a hotpoint dishwasher when our old one broke the old one was also hotpoint but was ancient and a real work horse.

We have had nothing but trouble with the new one and the engineer (we are quite friendly with him now he's been so many times!) said that Hotpoint used to be a British company however now its just another part of the Indesit company which is apparantly known in the industry as Indes*it!!!

Definately Bosch for us next time.

Love my Bosch double oven

Re Hotpoint - we had a washing machine that was absolutely fab, it lasted forever, through two adults, then two children. It was still going when we bought a new one (needed a 8kg washer). So we bought another Hotpoint thinking it would be :thumb: as well as the Hotpoint tumble drier. The engineer was out three times in the first year, I wouldn't have another HP appliance.

Definately Bosch for us next time.

 Bosch stuff tends to be very longlasting and reliable for most appliances, we have found. Actually for cookers, I love Smeg (never thought I would hear myself using that phrase   ) we have one of their free-standing ranges, second time around and it is fab - but they also have some lovely normal size models. Not cheap but really functional :thumb:
